I don't know of many people that have done the SC on a type-s. I would ask some questions about how that was done. How long the SC has been on and try to gauge how hard the owner has been on the car. I like the idea of having him or her take you out to see how they drive it.

I agree with Hi Speed. The Type S looks good-it's got the Aspec Kit and lighted door sills too. But I would really want to know about the mechanics of the car and be totally satisfied before I drive it off.

I have heard of a few Tls that ran way too hot and ended up cracking vital components because the intercoolers were not big enough to handle the supercharger. I would have a reputable boost shop check out the engine before you pull the trigger.

Absolutely what everyone said. One wrong thing with the super charger and you're done. On a lighter note, great price for the miles and mods. I'm jelly...

Definitely a great come up. I'm currently shopping for a 3G, great car for the price. I would definitely get it checked out though, SC's can be a pain in the arse at times.

Thanks for the replies. Im definitely gonna take a look over the car. Im a certified tech and I have a diploma in high performance and racing. Looks like the second owner had all this work done and only had the car for about 20k miles. Im driving 6 hrs to get it so im gonna make sure things check out on my book b4 I pull the trigger .....

True. But my car was heading in the same direction. I already spent about 3500 this year alone modifying it and its a 04 with125k miles... if anything goes wrong with this car it will give me a reason to tear the engine apart n upgrade the internals. Im not worried about it anyways... I don't think someone would invest close to 10ks into a car to beat the shit out of it... this is how I look at it. If it fucks up it will give me an excuse go to upgrade/modify it

Goodluck with the car I have seen that one online since im always searching my local Chicago area listings. I would have loved to help you out and check it out but Highland Park is waaayyyy too far for me as im down in the southwest suburbs of Plainfield and Highland Park is way north of the city looks like on the lake. Would be a 2 hour drive for me and im in the Chicago area lol.

I purchased my 08 NBP Type S 6mt from out of state and was lucky enough to have a acurazine member check the car out for me. He was great, looked the car over for 45 minutes and told me everything. He said "if I was in the market I would for sure buy this car". I heard those words and never looked back. Bought a one way plane ticket and drove her home. Flew out early in the am and had the car home by dinner time. Was a fun day to say the least!!! Might consider the plane ticket option! Fly into O'hare and have the dealership pick you up. Thats what I did worked great!

Bigg, I'm so glad you're a tech. It will now be interesting to see what YOU think of the car and the engine. Plus, if something goes wrong, you can work on it yourself.....

I just checked the carfax report. The 2nd owner had the car since 08 and only put 26000 miles in it. That's not bad at all.

The car was sold at NE auction 2/11.
Make certain that you find out what has been modified on the car, or if they even know, as fuel delivery, fuel supply, timing, boost etc would all need to be adjusted with that application as you are probably aware. I wouldn't hesitate on the purchase of the car, as long as any problems that arise in the future aren't a surprise to you.

The feeling that somebody that invested that type of money and wouldn't beat on the car is a misnomer as far as I'm concerned, and using the reversal, why would someone spend that much money then sell the car.

Good luck

Well I dont think you need to look at anything other than interior and exterior condition so that there are no surprises for him when he shows up. I would check for any blemishes on the car, check for clear coat consistancy to see if any body panels have been re-painted, check that every body panel still has its original vin label...that kind of stuff.

^^ what he said. Try searching him on here and check out his threads, make sure he didn't start threads about problems that came up and everything. Sounds like a great purchase and good luck with the sale, just try doing some homework and should put you in a good direction about it.

I have been reading slowly and found this so far....

Sorry to let you all down, but you're not gonna get to many more pics or vids for a while, cuz the car is going into the body shop to get all the damage from the tree that fell on it repaired. Will post more pics and vids when I get it back. Hopefully I'll have some dyno runs shortly after I get it back.

Sounds like this car has alot of damage....

The new CF hood isn't coming 'til beginning of March. Just hope it's soon enough so that it'll be on for the starting of the meets.

Also jumped in on the A-spec group buy, so that should be coming soon as well
