I have seen the request and threads regarding a FULL FLAT/MATTE black TL... But am looking for one (even if photoshop'd) and NBP 3G TL with FLAT/MATTE black Grille, Hood, Roof and trunk... everything else stock gloaa NBP. This is something I have had the reservation to do to my TL since day one and now my TL is looking to go to the shop at the end of the month to either improvements to already the all NBP grill and touch ups or this design above...Help! Thanks

I def do NOT want to wrap the car in CF vinyl ... I have always believed if it not real CF, leave it alone.

I have seen this design on other cars (flat/matte with the orig. gloss painted body combo) and thought it looked so dam sweet! I have also seen where someone would paint the hood,roof & trunk gloss black with their Silver or White car and also loved the look of that combo. I just haven't seen this pulled off on these specific parts and area with flat/matte and on a TL.

Why bother black on black ? especially being flat and glossy.

Before making this thread, those were the ONLY related threads/links I found... Just wasn't what I was looking for as u mentioned. Thanks for the help in general for all those who may want it or need it.

 

On a TL I completely agree...but Lamborghini pulled it off pretty well on their Nera...

 

Let me ask... Have you even seen it done? Do you draw, have a artistic mind or paint of any kind of creative skill to that nature? I have seen it done... Just NOT on a TL. My my skillful artistic imagination has it looking AWESOME. I only asked for a pic or PS of one just to confirm before the investment, which is the smart thing to do since I can't draw something like that with the different lusters. I can make a attempt but will only look charcoal grey and black on paper.

On this note, have u ever seen a car as simple as a Civic with a CF hood and Trunk? IMO, looks great!... But beyond 30-50yds it all looks black. I have seen this done 100x even on a black car. Sure, its CF... stuff makes anything look good. We all know this . My idea is only trying to be different along the same outline taking something that has been done 1000x but with a raised eyebrow twist. Finally, I say to you one thing... your opinion is helpful because its not going to be for everyone. But what is? Nothing... to each his own.

FYI: Foose and other Car Designers do FLAT/MATTE Black with Gloss black and finishes all the time... The Tuttles from OCC also... Its been done through out the industry. I would like to incorporate a murdered out stealth design with clean lines on this TL also. Not to sound like I am explaining it to you or making u like it... Cuz you don't have to and you may never like it. And I am absolutelu cool with that also.

this is some what I am looking for in design features. This is done is Matte/semi~gloss vinyl... This could be another option... But don't be fooled by vinyl, its also not cheap

More examples of the design I am playing with... These are also VINYL, Not paint as I am thinking about doing including the TL-S rear deck lip and ATLP V1 Roof wing.




I just can't find a TL... IMO, That is also a good thing... Its not being played out. I have mainly seen this on your mid-end sports cars or sports sedans. There is actually a Silver Mercedes C-Class with staggard flush concaved mesh flat/matte wheels with the matte/flat grille,hood,roof and trunk... It is str8 up Bad Ass! This is when I first thought this would be sick in with my black TL with the more aggressive stance to the nose and and slick lines giving it a more aggressive performance look while staying the sedan it is. Something that is not noticable all the time. But when it is noticed, Its like DAM THATS SIK!

 

I like the matte black look. I've seen a Chrysler 300 in matte black-looked terrific. I've seen pics of the Aventador in matte black-I'd rock it.

I'd do my Type S in Matte Black or Carbon Fiber...the entire thing!

 

This is just one of those things that really come down to personal opinion. It has to be done in a very tasteful way, otherwise it looks cheap... imo.

Id like to see a 3g TL wrapped in carbon fiber for sure.

 

^ Tru... I believe I will love it. As for anyone else, I also believe MOST will love it but its not for everyone. Idk bout ENTIRELY wrapped... But I am def entertailing the thought of doing wrap or paint in the same design as I described above... Maybe even a flat & gloss Graffiti design on roof only... Idk, I have really been working the gears in my head. But for sure, It will be 1 of the choices below...

1.) All Murdered NBP as it was.
2.) Painted or WRAPPED flat black grill, hood, roof & trunk (including both: ATLP V1 roof wing and TL-S Deck Lid)
3.) All murdered out NBP with only flat hood.
4.) All murdered out NBP with only flat roof.

... What do u guys think?

It is you...look at the roof...Lamborghini's Gallardo Nera is gloss and matte black off the showroom floor...Look it up

 

Yeah, I saw a a flat lesture to the roof... But thats it. The rest of the car looks HIGH GLOSS and very reflective. But I am sure u r right the car comes like that... That specific pic is a poor example IMO because it looks everything but that.
