Ouch! :-(

Soooo...I was going one way, decided to go back the other way, cutting thru traffic, which they let me do, but the turn radius didn't comply. Damn drop! :angryfire

I know the drill, here are the pics. I used a Q-tip (WDP) in my diagram.

I'm thinking that all I need to do to fix this is have it sanded and painted, as it is only on the lower lip (A-spec). Plus it created a gap (double-sided tape loosened) on that side slightly, so I may have to have that redone. How much do you guys think it will cost roundabout?

Oh yeah...Ballin', JJ, and Black...no photoshoots until this is fixed fa sho!

Double sided tape fix should be a quickie, juss peel, clean, and restick. I assume whoever you go to, to get it painted, will probably just do that repair for free, as he/she will probably take off the lip anyways to fix it. Sad to see that stella lost her groove.

Good Job!

It shouldnt be that expensive for a quick fix. A lil sanding, a couple sprays of paint(maybe some primer too but i dont know how that whole process works), your back in the swing of things then.

A good body shop outta run you $250-300. Probably find it for cheaper if you look around a bit though.

A piece that size will probably get completely resprayed unless you bring it to a shop that is willing to help save a few buck and "fix it up" for you rather than repair it.

When you say respray it, you are sying I don't have to do the whole thing, just that area? I didn't think it would be possible with matching and all. Is it because of the area being low that you say respray it as opposed to taking it off and painting the whole thing. If that works tho, I'm in there! I hate spending a lot of dough for simple jobs, but I will if it calls for it in order for it to be done right.

Yeah...diagram ftmfw!

Absolutely no chance for an RJ G! Besides, my lower grilles are custom and unaffected by this great tragedy!

Poor Stella!!! I feel for ya darksom1. I had basically the same damage to mine except it was to the underside. I had it fixed when I had the gray painted black as well. It's definitely fixable.

did you really cut through traffic like that? damn you're a mad man. hahah jk

so you're saying your wheel didn't touch the curb? only the bumper?...you went too close to the curb then.

what i do is if it's too tight i pull the ebrake...no u-turn is too tight for that

if the damage is on just the a-spec lip why not just get a new lip?
Unless you dont wanna spend that much.

Ray... come on dawg is that how they teach you to drive in the dirty south?... what excuse do you have for cutting through traffic like that..haha. Depending on the price I think triton might be right though just get a new lip! I hate to say it though but it's something I would expect from a wdp not a nbp baller like yourself. If i'm ever even the slightest bit unsure whether I can make a turn I always just back up to make sure I can clear it... This just goes to prove though that the turning radius in the 3rd gen sucks ass! I can't wait to see the 4th Gen in NY next week it's one of the first questions i'm going to ask... and I better see SH-AWD imprinted on it's ass too

I forgot, I can't do what Triton suggested because my A-spec is painted NBP. So it will be easier for me to just get it sanded and repainted, because I will have to do the grey part again!

... Take it off yourself and then take it to the shop. It doesn't sound like a big deal but you will save that in labor costs

The number's pretty close...it's based on the cost to fix similar damage I sustained when I was rear-ended (not in the way you NBP's do it). Realistically, it would a hundred or so less as mine included bumper removal...and as Evader said, it's the labor to remove and reinstall that kills you. Taking them the part should get it down to around $200, probably less.

sorry to see it. don't worry it's an easy fix, the bodyshop will make it look like new again. NBP is not hard to match. It's a good thing the insert on your A-spec is painted, that'll make it easier as well. i can totally picture what happened with that diagram, great!

it would make sense to compare the repair price to a new piece. I don't know how much you paid to have that insert painted....$150? So you are talking about $450 for a new piece painted? If the repair is not considerably less you could consider it......(And sell the ol one, you could get at least $100 for it?)

yeah, like evader said you can take it off yourself and save 1hr labor there......it's so easy even you can do it

buy a new lip...277 from hondacura...if u get it painted again they will need to sand it fill it primer it paint it and clear it...with all the road damage there is on that front lip it will have a nice shiney spot where they fix it and all the rest will look like shiney crap.. (all the little nicks and chips from rocks) trust me,unless its way less than 200 from a shop to fix it,buy a new one for that extra 77 dollars..and u have a whole nice shiney non peice of crap lol..

when we repair bumpers and the customer dosent pay to prime the whole bumer to fix all the road chips and nicks,it looks like shit cause u have a real shiney smooth peice that was primerd and fixed, then all the rest of it is just nicks and chips that have been cleared over (hence the shiney peice of crap analogy)

Damn Surprised I didnt see this earlier. I was gonna make fun of you for the diagram but its actually what made the whole situation click lol.

Anyways, looks painful Atleast the only thing that got scraped was the lip and not the actual bumper or any other part of the car. I dont think the solution should be too expensive, Im guessing its only gonna be sanding it down and then painting, which hopefully shouldn't be more than $250, but that may be way off. Good luck with it mang!

Photoshoot soon once this is fixed!

I priced a new lip at $264 from acuraoemparts.com (my dealership pricematches with them)

I don't know what a new lip primed, painted would be, but I will know all of this (fixed vs new) tomorrow if I can find a couple shops open to compare. Or Monday at the latest...thanks!
