Ordered my WDP TL this weekend!!!!

Hi all! Well, finally did it - ordered my WDP TL on Saturday! It leaves the factory on June 18th and dealer said it would be delivered by the end of the month (or I'd get a free loaner car). I actually went in with an open mind on the color and decided I would be happy with NBP, WDP, RRP, or ABP. We drove a RRP around w/o salesperson for about an hour or more. When we told the dealer we wanted one soon the only 2 colors available from the factory this month (auto w/NAV) were WDP and ABP. If we wanted another color he told us it could be 2 months. They are already taking orders on the 2005 models so guess production is starting to slow. I like the blue but hubby likes the white and he is paying for it so guess I "compromised" My dealer said for 2005 they are doing away with the ABP (only change for 2005) and that it was a much higher maintenance color than the WDP and they had some problems with the color. Not sure how true that is but I'm happy nonetheless! Not sure how good of a deal I got - $33,900 for auto w/Nav (oh, I'm also getting the spoiler). I have to make a 13 hour drive the day after I pick up my car and hope that it won't be too hard on a new TL right away. Hopefully I can set up the NAV etc. quickly! Now I have to decide on what phone to buy! YIPEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Congrats! NAV is SOOOO simple to setup. I put a 300mi business trip on mine the day after I got it.

And if you get to expense report your mileage, your employer is paying you to break in your car!

Welcome to team White Diamond! You'll love the color - makes the TL look richer than it is. Besides, its fairly easy to keep clean and stays cooler during the hot summer months. What color interior?

I got the parchment. Funny I have a Ford F-150 (white with tan interior) which is why I wasn't originally going to chose WDP but hubby said it is a totally different white (pearl) and the interior is a lot lighter than my truck. Unfortunately, I can't pull a horse trailer with the TL so will keep the truck! Gave it to hubby and I get the new TL - can't beat that!

Welcome to the WDP club. Great color. Glad to see you have taste. I have the same interior as you (parchment). Looks great with the fake wood.

Hi cheesehead,

As president of Team White Diamond, I would like to extend you a warm welcome! You'll definitely love the car. I got the Quartz interior instead since I liked the carbon fiber trim pieces instead of the wood. It's a little easier to maintain also. Either way, you have a gem. Make sure you take pix of the car and post them after you take delivery. Good luck and Happy Motoring!

Thanks! Any tips for the soon to be new owner? What wax/leather cleaner do you use? Do you have the floor mats?

Good choice on the parchment. Another worthwhile look-into would be the protection package with splash guards (really help to keep lower portion of car clean), floor mats, trunk tray and wheel locks. Perhaps dealer will throw this in for free. Also charcoal tint on the glass (really contrasts with the WDP well, keeps prying eyes out, and keeps car cooler inside). As far as wax goes, there are many good choices out there. I use the Meguiar's Gold Class now but will switch to their NXT techwax when it runs out. For leather - Lexol.

Thanks - what color car mats look good with the white or are the all the same color? Does the dealer tint the windows? Cost? Sorry so many questions. Don't know if the dealer will throw in the protection package he does throw in the wheel locks (and a keychain! ). Hubby is a sales manager at an auto parts store so he said he can buy the splash guards cheaper and put them on himself. I used the Mequires NXT on my 99 F-150 (white) and it worked great! Hubby bought me home a California Duster the other day too!

cheesehead,

The general consensus here is that getting the all season mats is the way to go. I didn't get the splash guards because I am in the process of installing the bodykit and you can't have both the kit and guards. I installed the Body Side Moldings this weekend along with the wheel locks for added protection. BSMs have been very contraversial due to the "character" line the runs along the side of the car. As for waxes, I use NXT like you and love it. I also Lexoled the seats too. And I skipped the trunk tray since I feel that the stuff not held with the cargo net slide around too much while I drive. Hope this helps you customize your new ride.

Tom -
Wow! Sorry to hear that - the dealer I went to is one of the biggest if not the biggest Acura dealer in the country so I'm sure part of the problem with delays is due to the inventory volume. More you sell, more you get..........My car ships Friday and dealer said should take 6-10 days to get here if not I will get a free loaner. There were only two cars coming this month with NAV - mine and an ABP w/camel (which I really like but hubby doesn't). Other than these two cars he did say I would have to wait another 2 months for another color. Where do you live? Hope you get your car soon - try asking for the VIN # - so he is not wheeling and dealing with yours!

I got the standard mats with mine - tan with "TL" logo. They do get dirty quickly though so All season mats may work better for you. Your dealer may tint the windows but most seem to farm them out to a local shop. I took it outright to a local guy who did them for $160 without the felt. BTW, I haven't had any scratching problems some say the felt prevents.
