Oil changes anf flushing...

Hello,
I am a new member. I purchased a 2007 Tl/Nav two months ago. It has ~140K miles. It seems to have been well cared for, but I do not have records, so I don't know for sure.

Recently, I purchased a Groopon deal where I get three oil changes with filter and "synthetic blend" oil. After purchase, I noticed that I have to use all three services within four months. I drive maybe, 1000 miles/month. But I have these changes coming to me, and I must use them all within 3 months.

So, I will get the oil changed each of the next three months. I've read about a method of crankcase cleaning using either Auto RX or Seafoam and oil changes at less than 2000 miles. I plan to use Seafoam (since I already have it) and have my oil changed all three times adding 8oz of Seafoam after each change. I want to see how much/how well it cleans out old sludge and varnish. I would think that after three treatments, the inside of my engine would be squeaky clean. Has anyone on this forum done such a thing?

BTW, I will try to document this process with pictures of the drained oil on each change.

I personally dont do those things to my car, but that's just personal opinion. I've always been one to just recommend doing old fashioned oil changes on time...no added cleaners or other additives. Let us know how it goes tho.

I've put Seafoam in my gas tank, but I would never put it in my engine.

Another option is draining a couple quarts of oil and running a couple of quarts of ATF for a few hundred miles before your next oil change.
It can clean actual standing sludge to a liquid to drain out.

One coworker had an old 305 v8 that he took the valve cover off, it had standing sludge up above the head in the shape of the actual valve over. Drained all the oil and filled it all with ATF and ran it for 1000 miles or so and did that 3 times. After that process he pulled the valve cover again and it was all shiny metal lol.

Caution, engines with sludge broken up can up can block those little passages for the vtec system and wash away some of the sludge behind seals that are slowing oil leaks.

IMHO it's just as important to clean the magnetic drain plug when doing trans fluid drain fill. They say u can put car on hoist and make it go into each gear and that's good enough for the dlr.

But after doing my brother tl type s I drove it Inbetween each fluid change for 10 kms and each time the drain plug had shit on it but it got exponentially better with each drain/fill. The last drain I did there was virtually nothing on the drain plug.

I did 4 on the tls cause it had never been done in 7 years. Shifting got better too, even on a car with 34000 kms.
