No, he means getting in on this batch of the group buy ends at 2pm est. I don't think payment ends at a certain date/time... but the quicker you get your money in the quicker you get your key (I'm pretty sure at least).

Btw csmeance on the website you wrote "this batch will be closed by 28 PM July 2th EST". I think you meant to type "this batch will be closed by July 28th 2PM EST"

and yes the site is slow as shyte now. people going off about it in ramblings

Looks like I'm too late... will these be for sale again soon?

Out of curiosity - so we get these switchblade keys "blank", bring them to an Acura dealer to get them cut, programmed, and the immobilizer setup to work with our car. Any idea how much the dealer charges to do this?

I urge you not to go to dealerships to get them cut because most of them are jealous the heck out and they'll tell you your key won't work.

you should have a local locksmith to get them cut professionally, they might do it for free if you're lucky.

then go to dealership and DEMAND them to program it even if they say it won't work. also don't pay for $70 to have them program all your keys.

Good info lights.....thanks. The only thing you HAVE to have the dealer do is program the immobilizer, correct? Locksmith can cut the key and we can program the remote for PDL's...memory is inherent to the remote. Am I missing anything?

Just curious...why would a dealership be jealous? they have dozens of 07/08 models that have switchblade keys. Why would they not want to make a customer happy? rather keep an existing customer who bought a TL from them happy?

I'd even go further to say that those of us with pre-certified TL's and have good relationships with a local dealer are probably better off going to the dealer, than some local locksmith who you don't know, and don't have a standing relationship with, will probably never see you again, thus has no real incentive to make you happy and keep you as a loyal customer.

cheers.

cool. thanks for the link. I've got a pretty good standing with a dealership here in Atlanta, so I'll give them a try. if not, i'll try to find a reputable locksmith in the area.

thanks lights.

yea, i'd say it's going to be different for everyone.

I just got off the phone with a dealership close to my job (one that I have never been to before), and the girl on the phone knew exactly what I was talking about (getting an 07 blank switchblade reprogrammed and cut to replace my 06 key). she was like "yep, no problem, i'll leave a message for the main service guy and he'll get back to you tomorrow with cost/availability"

customer service in da hood!

guess it's probably common now after having those keys around for a bit.

and yea, that forum has been mad slow all day...:/

Payment sent for me. CS must be pretty busy, so I just paid for the 1 key I called dibs on. I'm not going to worry about getting the second key.

I know CS specified to press the + and add information to the order. Make sure you look at the checkout page very carefully!!! I missed it - hopefully it won't be a problem

I'm in atlanta too...what dealership are you going to? Maybe if we can get some atl folks together we can workout a discount if we all go to the same dealership/locksmith?

Guys, I had my switchblade key done a year ago by just going into my dealership, giving them my VIN # information, and the guy just went in the back and did a cut & program. I think they key is just to speak to the tech guy at Acura and make sure he knows what you want. As I recall the price was reasonable. BTW, the key was milled prior to being sent to me.

i asked my dealer a few weeks ago and he knew exactly what i was talking about too. he said quite a few people have been coming in with blank milled keys to get them cut and programed for their TLs. he even made sure that the blank key i was talking about had the line in it (was milled) or else it wouldnt work. gonna ask tomorrow how much itll cost to cut/program.

Thanks csmeance! I've paid.

As for the dealer doing the cutting and programming...I talked to mine in person (had to drop my car off for service) today. I was quoted over $100 to cut and program my new key...I'll be looking elsewhere...anyone know of anywhere in the OK area to get this done? Thanks.
