New trans New engine

Replaced the transmission on 05 tl with 07 accord.took it for a test drive blew a head gasket ugh.so New engine put in got running today. Wondering if the accord transmission shifts different? Seems the shift points are slightly different. Maybe it's been awhile since I drove the car .any ideas?oh what would cause the end of sparks plugs to rust? Hard to get out.put the ones from the old engine in runs great.

Why is this plug rusted.

Ooof. That is a good sign that the engine sat outside in a yard for quite some time. Valve stuck in an open position while sitting, air and moisture gets in, and does that to the combustion chamber. Happens more with core engines themselves (compared to the entire car sitting outside) since the headers are off, as well as only having the throttle body plate protecting the intake manifold from the elements. Hopefully your valve heads/seats, pistons, rings, etc. aren't too corroded either but the only way to tell will be an inspection. A good borescope would be helpful just for frame of reference. I'd inspect under the valve covers too. If you say it runs great, I suppose that's a good sign lol.

well it ran pretty good on the first 25 mile test drive.but yes it was sitting on a shelf in a junkyard .it was in a warehouse but open ended.it did blow smoke after I changed the plugs one of the coils didn't have the seal on it.and a couple leaked so oil drained down into cylinders..I'm hoping I don't have to do any more major work on it.this car has been a headache..

Tough scene, I personally would not have accepted + installed an engine like that, but to each their own.

As for your transmission, the gear ratios are slightly different if I recall correctly. There are a TON of threads with great info on that trans swap across this site, you can google search "acurazine AV6 swap" to easily get more info.
