Engine Input

I'm fighting with my parents over my little brother's car. He blew the engine in his 94 Integra LS and I found him a engine and trans for $1,000. My parents went out and found a 93 Civic engine and trans for $500 and they want to put it in the car. I told them not to because it don't make sense. I told them its like putting a V8 into a V6. The LS engine aint that powerful but in my eyes even a Civic EX engine in Integra is a waste of money.

Opinions??

The integra engine would be better. Just stick with stock unless the $500 is too much to spend and he just needs to get from point A to point B. Honda designed the Integra with some of it's own parts, and they should be used. I'm guessing the transmission is the same though.
