Question just a quick question

i just read an article about someone's tl that had their trans. replaced but when he got it back from the dealer his tcs light and engine light came on so he took it back and the dealership reset it but then 2 days later they came on again. One guy had said, "engine was damaged from the transmission going out such as valve guides and seals and carbon build up on plugs." Is that true because i have to get my tranny replaced as well and i was wondering what other possible problems would i have if my transmission went out?

what I imagine based on OP. was the old trans was bad and caused engine over-rev and damage to valves- same as a manual trans car can do like a missed downshift puts it in the redline- the AT cars dont have that issue- its all computer controlled

Spark plug carbon?--what BS
How was the car running before you took it in?

My TL threw a code for over-revved but the engine ran fine so it was a false code-
(if it had a problem it would have gone to LIMP MODE and not rev above 3000)
which meant the trans was slipping and telling the computer its going to fast- normally an engine overspeed issue--but in that case it was really a failed trans

You should not expect any crazy problems
Drive it gentle to normal first 500 miles- no redline- no racing
500-1000 normal to hard - some full throttle runs ~approved~ to be sure all is working right
After that drive as desired
Get on a trans fluid change program every 15k miles

what he said, and over reved engine suck cl-s6 still pulls like always.

what could have happened is that it went into limp mode on the highway and down shifted to 2nd gear. happened to my tl twice. at 80-85mph. it feels like u got rear ended. the brakes dont apply, it was bouncing off the revl imiter but dont know what damage was done
