New guy here w/some questions

Hey everyone, I currently own a subaru STI and I am getting tired of using it as a daily driver and want something more on the midsize luxury end.

BMW 328i
Lexus is350
Acura TL

I was thinking about getting a 07 TL w/nav. Mainly because from what i read in the transition from 06 to 07 now comes with a mp3 player, new guages, fog lights, softer suspension.

I had a acura GSR and went to the STI, but its not pratical anymore as a family car. I loved Acuras reliability and thats probably pulling me back for the midsized luxury car.

So do you guys love your rides? How comfortable is it? Any advice on buying one? Any known defects in the product line or concerns I should have?

Any comments/advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

i love my 04 TL and everything about it. The ride is very smooth and it flys. Im sure the 07 TL is even better and with the navi is awsome. I also have the navi in mine and it helps on even when you dont think you need it plus it makes everything look better . Also the mods you can do to the TL make it look a whole lot better

Hope this helps!

I'd go for the tl, not cause im bias but because the tl is by far more practical than the is350.... sat in one before and i gotta tell you, its not made for a family man.
though if your looking for a practical lexus, then maybe you should look into a GS350

+1

Acura TL is more spacious than a 328 or an is350.
Overall: BMW takes the cake
size: acura TL
power: is350

you choose

Well if you do go with the TL, I would get the Type-S. It won't feel like such a "soccer dad" slap in the face downgrade going from a STI to a TL-S. Its still a great family car with some balls to make it fun to drive.

Such a shame...

the IS is way to small to be considered a family car... the back seat is as roomy as the back of a civic... if you are looking for practical, take it to the next level GS... for Acura, it should give you the size you need... if you are keeping the STI, then just get base TL w/ NAVI should be fine... if you are giving up your STI for the TL... def try to find a TL-S 6spd... at least the power loss won't be too bad for your transition...

I agree the IS350 is way to small in the back. For a good mix of performance and comfort the TL is the way to go. If your looking for a drivers car I'd opt for a '06 330i instead of the 328. The type-s ride will be a little more harsh then the regular TL (go test drive both at the dealership back to back).

I have owned 10 cars in my lifetime and the TL has been my favorite so far. With the combination of power and luxary and then the piece of mind that the car is built pretty strong I am glad I bought my TL.

Im not conserned with downgrading in power. I'm not gonna be racing anymore, but I would like to stay min. 225-250hp.

Im not going back to owning a manual. I always said that I would never get a auto, but shifting all the time especially in traffic jams sucks. The older I get the more my perspectives and ways of thinking changes.

I was quoted 50.00/mth full coverage on a TL which is great savings from the STI! I'd save so much loot on gas. STI = Lead foot, its an addiction. Almost impossible for me to stay out of boost.
