memory seats simple question

I know this question was asked multiple times, but I have a hard time using search option. I just wonder if a light by memory switch 1 or 2 should be lit all the time or not? Thanks

On my car, if the ignition's on, the light stays on. Which seat number gets lit depends on which key fob you used to unlock the car, apparently.

Hope this helps.

Does it stay untill you shut off the engine/turn off the ignition? or does it come up for couple sec and the led turns off?

If the LED is turning off, you probably still have the old memory module, there is a TSB where they replace it since it looses the memory and sometimes reappears, and the LED turns off when it looses its memory (I had this issue, that is why I know).

Tell your dealer, this was only for TLs built in the first 6 mo or so of production for the 04 MY (which from your sig you have).

See the 3rd Gen Garage for more details.

That sounds very reasonable. Mine's an '05 and the seat button's light stays on as long as the engine's running.

Thanks guys for responses. My memory seats work just fine – I just wasn’t sure if either light (memory 1 or 2) should be lit all the time when driving – I know that when I readjust the seats when driving the light goes of, but the settings are not saved automatically (I have to save new settings)

BTW i would prefer the light to be off all the time

Yes, you have to save the new settings by pressing the mem. buttom then pressing you number. This is good because if somebody else is driving the car, other than the normal two drivers, they can set the seat or mirrors anyway they like, but those setting will only stay until driver 1 or 2 unlocks the car again.

One last thing about the memory lights.

As soon as you adjust the drivers seat with the controls on the side of the seat the light also goes out. Indicating that the seat is no longer in that memory position. Haven't noticed if changing the side mirrors does it also, suppose it does.
