Lower A-arm mount

Hey guys, today I was doing some service on my brakes. I happen to look into the engine bay on my passenger side and saw this:

I'm not sure what actual part it is, or where exactly it goes to. I know the bottom portion goes to the lower A-arm. Can somebody help me out. What's it called and how do I replace it?

Okay, gotcha. Both right and left side seem torn. Do you think they're hard to replace? The bottom part seem welded onto the subframe.

Found a DIY, don't look difficult at all. Might have to do this soon, although I'm going to guess these have been like this for a long time.

looks like your subframe is drooping too low, may need to jack it up a bit

That's what I was thinking too. Whenever I replace them I gotta put a jack under there to pick it up. I gotta check the front mounts as well, cuz that's too much separation. The car was jacked up when I took the picture, but it shouldn't be that separated.

Hey, was your picture taken at ELAC? It looks like the ELAC carports.

Any symptoms? Any noises or clunks or noticeable ride changes?

No symptoms that I can think off. I know my front passenger side motor mount is bad and that makes a clunking noise I can hear and feel on my foot. That happens on rough roads only though. I just happen to see this when doing my brake service a couple days ago.

Oh, gotcha. If Almansor park had good lighting that's where I would like to take pictures, but like at 3 am.

Hey different story, how hard is to do the springs? I've done them on my old 'Teg, so I know how the front works. The back is what worries me.

Cool, not too bad. Do you have air tools? When I had my 'Teg I got so good at doing the suspension that one time I had to do it in the dark cuz the lights went out at the block half way through the process. I think what I'm worried is the horror stories people put about the rear end links and how they get really rusted. Then again, we live in Cali, don't really have to worry about that stuff.

I live off Commonwealth and Garfield. Been there for about 1 year. I bought the TL off the VW dealer on Main Street, by the Chipotle. Thanks for the tip on the Acura dealer. I'm always there asking questions. Too bad I didn't know this before I bought my DEPO taillights. They work good and look good, but of course OEM is better.

One of my friends lived across from Almansor, said there was always drama there. Went to his house for 4th of July and got tore up. Glad I lived that close, just had to walk home carrying my 4 year old, LOL!!!! Thank God the wife doesn't drink, she had to guide me home.

There are a lot of TLs in Alhambra. I was kinda surprised. I never noticed them until I started looking into them. Mostly I see the 04-06 ones
