well of course prices will be different for your age, sex, and driving history...but im paying $1,060 annually for full coverage with allstate. i'll be switching to geiko after my term in 5 months due to cheaper rates. That price is also discounted because i have my house insured with them as well.

Don't forget to factor in your location - that also relates to your premium.

Make sure you have plenty of coverage. Cheaper premiums doesn't necessarily mean better insurance. You should have more insurance for the medical expenses vice the car itself. I'm getting ready to switch to a policy which covers 250,000/500,000. I don't need to be taken to the cleaners for medical bills. Right now I have USAA and pay around $1000 annually. I'll be switching to Travelers and paying a few hundred more but for 5 times the coverage.

These threads are so pointless since there are literally dozens of factors that determine a person's rate. OP, I'd suggest calling a local agent and letting him do the work for you. He can find you the best coverage for the best price. Generally speaking though, TL's aren't horribly expensive to insure.

State Farm
Full Coverage
2 tickets, 1 accident

$200/month for my 2007 TL-S and 99 Jeep Chrokee. I also get a multi-line discount for having renters insurance.

It is actually cheaper for me overall to have renters insurance than not having it.

Agreed, these types are thread are kind of useless since there are too many variables in rates. Type S are not extremely expensive to insure. Mine is actually cheaper then my 08 Civic and my 05 Ram.

Great advice. Ensure you have plenty of coverage. Standard liability of 25/50K won't go far now of days. I'm covered at 100/300K with USAA and thinking about buying a $1MM liability umbrella policy for ~$300 annually.

I didn't take the $1M liablity umbrella yet. But was quoted around $250.00 a year. I'll probably add that next year. I am currently with USAA also, but switching to AllAmerica Financial Benefit.

All of these premiums mean nothing unless you also provide

1) city & state you live in
2) age
3) gender
4) marital status
5) coverages
6) deductibles
7) and I am sure I forgot to add a couple few things

There are so many variables on that, I will say a Type-S really didn't cost me any more than my TL, was within $40 a year.

to insure my 08 TL-s was 20 bucks a year cheaper than insurance on my 02 Lexus SC430.... I pay less per year than my older brother with an 08 civic... TL-s is not a very expensive car to insure given it's category as 38k car... just depends on the variables. It is not a race car/etc.. so insurance premiums are not high.

It's all relative. My TL non type-S is about $600 more per year to insure than my G35 Coupe, which had a higher sticker than my TL did.

On the itemization, it showed that the comprehensive cost was something like close to triple the cost of the G35. Perhaps this is attributed to higher theft rates, I don't know....

Oops, I guess it wasn't triple... I found my last post where I listed the itemization:

According to the itemization breakdown:
Bodily Injury = TL 25% more
Property Damage = TL 18% more
Personal Injury = TL 32% more
Uninsured Motorist = TL 4% LESS

Collision = TL is 65% more
Comprehensive = TL is 146% more

Why don't you just get online quotes? It will give you a rough idea what you are going to pay based on where you live, your driving record and the type of coverage you want.
