Looks great! Hopefully it works and stays in place.

All, the secret to these working seems to be not to leave the windows up in a hot car without a sunshade. The direct sunlight makes it warp because the black Coverlay basically just absorbs the heat from the sun. Lesson learned, ALWAYS ALWAYS use a sunshade with these, even for two minute trips in the store.

It looks really good!
Especially when I look at my cracked dash, compared to this.
Nice job and thanks for all the tips. I always use sunshade even tho I have the cracks, why? Probable because I’m used to it and do it outta habit.

This looks interesting but the don't currently have anything for Acura. - https://www.maddashdesigns.net/ If there were enough interest perhaps they would put something together for 3G owners.....??

in 4 months you'll have 4 more cracks. And heat is not exactly what causes ithe dash boards to crash. #1 it is age. #2, it is the heat in combination with a quick cool down. Or a hard freeze. the cool down causes shrinkage on the surface and it will pull itself apart. And when it cracks, it will hear a snap or a pop. When it is hot, the materiel actually expands and it wants to fill in. But when it cools quickly or when it is cold, the surface of the dashboard will shrink. And that is when it cracks.
I developed, just today, the notorious dash crack by the passenger airbag. I took care of the dash. I parked in my garage every night. I put on sunshades. I was confident that the dash crack would not come to my doorstop. Well, it kicked in my front door, shot me, and then left. The value of my car just went down by an order of magnitude. I have 131K miles on the car now.

Now I have four options (in order of ascending cost):
1. Do nothing and drive the car as is. Dash crack will only get worse with time.
2. Get a fabric dash mat. Ugly as sin, and a band-aid fix.
3. Get a plastic dash cover. Not as bad as above, but still ugly. Will not use screws.![Precious](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/precious.gif)
4. Ask Acura to see about covering a portion of the dash repair. I know the corporate ops manager at a local dealer (former Navy Captain and CO). If they say no, then I would either go with one of the above options or below.
5. Sell the car meow and get a newer car.

All,
I've been corresponding with Andy at Mad Dash Designs, who tells me that they have now designed a cover for the 3rd gen TL. It is even available to select on their website. However, he informed me today that they have not finished the build and don't have pics/vids yet. He estimates that it will be ready to order later this month. Their dash cover products for other vehicles look fantastic IMO. Just thought I'd keep you all in the loop.

So it's a leather pad that stays in place without adhesive? Sounds like an upgrade!

The concept is intriguing, but that video did not do a great job at showcasing the product for me. The fitment could be much better and that large imprinted logo looks tacky in my opinion. I still think a Coverlay looks much better.

I do not disagree with this at all. However, folks are having issues with the Coverlay's fitment and it not staying where its supposed to/adhesive not adhering properly. Plus, the Coverlay requires applying adhesive directly onto the dash, which is somewhat permanent, and could cause further dash damage/issues. It seems all the dash "solutions" have their various drawbacks.
