You'll probably need a Gatr job. Not much else can be done. Coverlay "may" still work, but that is pretty bad....

its really bad, I just changed out my tweeters and HU. It didn’t matter how careful I was trying to be, the edges of the dash surrounding the trim panels and tweeter covers was so brittle it was coming apart.

hopefully he's not dealing with a shit dealership/parts house... My heater core was dropped and took over a month to get a non-dropped/damaged one. That can be very aggravating, acuraeoemparts knows first hand!

I took the lazy and cheap way out to deal with my dash. After following this thread, I ruled out both the Coverlay as well as a new dash replacement. I went with
this this
thing. It looks better than the cracked disaster underneath. The fit was better than some of the carpet style mats I've seen. It sucks because this is a 55k mile 2006, which is immaculate except for the dash, which is the worst I've seen of all the cracking pics. I'm happy(ish) for now with the dash situation.

The only time in owning my black TL that I was able to relax and enjoy it without thinking about whether or not it was too hot out or did I remember to crack the windows was when I had a dash cover like that on it.
I made it look a little more custom by cutting the cover to put the tweeters through it...it also muddies up the sound over them.

Dude, poor Brian, replaced his with an undamaged and it cracked a month later.
Hit or miss but glad you're good to go, Gatr!

I know I'm on borrowed time. I'm happy that it has not cracked yet.

So the other thing that I've done is to use one of those dash mats on my dash anyways, especially down here in Florida. I have one on there because I can't put on the window shade while I'm driving. The dash mat reduces the temperatures hitting the dash from the sun, which are quite high. The reduction in direct sunlight (and therefore heat radiation) hitting the dash is what may have led to no cracks so far. The difference in temperature between no dash mat and with the dash mat was about 23 degrees F. Who knows. Just trying everything I can to not get dash cracks. I suppose it also helps that I'm rarely driving (~10 miles a week for the past 10 months).

You, sir, might be the biggest disgrace to "Floriduhman" ever. Just because the window shade has a warning saying not to do it, doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.

After much thought and my own experiences watching them crack over the last decade...
I think the real folly is getting in the hot ass car and cranking the ac...I would try and drive with windows down a bit to bring overall ambient temp down on the dash before cranking the ac
