i know, another BBK brake pad ?

After getting alot of great info while *searching, the job seems simple enough I still have a question to you DIY'ers. I need to replace my front pads, (dont plan on changing the fluid till 45k) and alot of guys recommend staying with OEM, some say the Duramax Cmax ones are just fine- anyway- I called the dealer today just to get a quote- and he quoted me $ 320 for pads and turning the rotors (I am at 31k) I then asked if I supply the pads how will that effect the price- went down to $ 130. Just curious if this price is fair, or if the DIY is really *that simple*- tia

Replacing the pads with Brembo calipers------easy
Skip down to 19-14:

If no pulsating, don't cut the rotors.

The OE pads can be had on line for $154.00

flush the brake fluid now- the tires are off,,no reason to wait,,, and many benefits to it being fresh every year, along with cabin air filter

and new batteries in the smoke detector at home~
Once a year keeps you in the clear!

I find it weird lately, posters referring to the stock Brembos as a Big Brake Kit.

When you bleed the brakes, don't forget the front calipers have 2 bleeders each.

LOL. I could see that too. Only it's factory so it's not a kit. I was just giving you a hard time. It's the brake envy us 5at guys have.

I have had CMAX sitting on my shelf myself to go on. Just been lazy but my pads barely have any life left so I need to do it before my 4000 mile trip in 2-3 months. The pads are easy as I pulled them off recently myself to look at them real good.

brembo front calipers- bleed OUTER nipple until all clear and clean new fluid- no leftover fluid- then a few more times to be sure
Now move to the Inner bleeder

remember the order is special: LF is driver front then clockwise around the car LF RF RR LR
thats the ONLY way to do it

should flush brake fluid once a year every year- its hidden in the maitenance schedule but after your first time you will understand and do it often--

if I track day or mountain trip my car- it gets fresh brake fluid before and after the day!! that how hot and ruined you can get fluid having fun~
brake fluid is cheap-= good brakes are priceless
