I just can't believe it...

I can't even begin to comprehend how bad my luck is. My car has been hit serverly in the back TWICE now, only this time its much, much worse. I was going to lunch with a friend and we went to the mall (huge mistake there). I found a good spot (going to park in the back from now on) and went in. We had a quick lunch, came back out, and all over the back corner of my bumper were scratches, a huge dent, and paint coming off (cracking and peeling). The bumper was also popped out of place. Who the hell hit it that fucking hard to do damage like that, I can't believe it.

Anyway, let me give you a rundown of the luck I've had with the car;

1. Before the summer I park in the back at a mall. Come back to find my bumper with paint coming off since it got hit, and misaligned.

2. Get bumper repaired, a few days later someone backs into me at work and leaves green paint and a small dent on my rear bumper. Looked for car with no luck. Decided not to get it repaired.

3. Car takes a shower of rocks from a dumptruck, gets a nick on the fender and a couple on the front bumper. Looks like crap but it wasn't big enough to justify getting repainted.

4. Some dumbass bitch at my school pulls OVER the line in a spot (I was parked head out) by at least 2 feet right into my bumper. Leaves the car not realizing it. I take pictures, get estimates, etc. and bring it to the assistant principal. She talks to the student and she claims she didn't do it. I HAD PICTURES! Parents tell me not to pursue legal action because the cost of repairs are probably less than the deductible.

5. I discover a scratch on the side of my front bumper. A pretty bad one, near the bottom. Not very noticable unless you find it (then it looks like shit) but still a bitch.

6. Asshat hits my car probably while backing out of a spot today.

Why me? I fucking hate New York. I don't get it. It makes sense to maybe be nicked once. But fucking TWO bad hits to the bumper and a handful of other nicks. It sucks a lot.

I'm gonna go take some pictures right now.

Sorry to hear that. In NYC and LI, it's not easy to see someone leaving a note (with his/her info) to tell you he hit your car...

Which mall?

Gale...geeze..sorry to hear about all the rotten luck you've been having with your car. If it were me, I'd probably have blown an artery by now. You seem to be taking it pretty well considering the damage involved with a brand new car. I get pissed when I get bugs on my bumper...so I don't know what I'd do if someone hit me in a parking lot. Good luck dude.

Gonna be hard to get a "far" spot at Ikea... all the spots are taken on that side of the mall. I think there is a garage though, so there might be some vacant spots in there. As for the source mall, there is a garage there but it is all the way on the other corner on the mall so I don't bother. Spots are a pain to get there though. Even if you're in the back you're cramped in, because the lot isn't that big.

Anyway, here are the pictures. As with any TL damage pics, don't view if you have a weak stomach.

BTW, thanks ton rondog for hosting them while my website is down.

How much have people paid for full bumper repaints? I paid $400 for my first (as mentioned in my first post) but I was unhappy with the job.

I'm sorry to hear about your rides. They're are TL haters out there, that can't stand people like TL owners to drive a car like this. They're just jealous, they know it, and you know it, just hang in there guys.

I feel your pain...

I have been rear-ended 3 times this year ! (all by ladies with cell phones.)
It must be the color...

I'm convinced , Anthracite and SSM are hard to see for some people.

good luck on the repairs.

Whatever happen to the days when bumpers really were "bump"ers? They are all now nicely painted, shiny, which makes cars nowadays naked and prone to easy scratches. I guess the cost of nice looking cars are cars that get messed up easily. GL with the repairs.

GF: Please read the thread I attached above. Apparently, airbrushing techniques that are being used by independent contractors who come to various dealers are way to go. I had to drop off my car at the dealer for something else and those service write guys told me that they do an amazing job for less. They asked for $250. I am trying to find out if I can talk to the actual guy directly. It probably won't cost more than $100 as "acura_service" (a member in this forum) has mentioned.

I might look into that for the scruffs on my front bumper, the ones that I described as hard to see. For the rear bumper I'm probably going to go with a full repaint to repair everything else that is there.
