Hit and Run victim

About 3 weeks ago my car was parked outside of a restaurant while I was inside eating and was hit. The person who hit my car left no note for me to contract them and fled the scene. I originally didn’t notice the damage when I left the restaurant because I parked by myself and didn’t think I needed to do a walk around.

After leaving the restaurant I saw my cars reflection while driving by a building with big glass windows and noticed something looked off. I pulled over and assessed my rear quarter panel to find the damage.

Immediately drove back to the restaurant and asked to see the footage from their cameras and called the police to do a police report for insurance reasons.

This was super upsetting because I just lost my 08 base TL about 3 months ago when it hydro locked in a flash flood. And I got my insurance settlement and purchased this Type S. Which has been great to me.

Well, that is fucking infuriating...
but it's also easily fixable.
You own my favorite color for the TL-S.
It'll be back better than before when they are done.
Tough pill to swallow but you know how this goes.

So sorry, that's awful to look at. As Rockstar said, it's repairable but always bothers me when someone is the victim of the hit and run.
Good luck with the repairs and dealing with insurance.

Sorry to see that happened and very infuriating. With that said, you have left us all hanging here......... What if anything did the footage from the cameras show?? Anything? Did you catch a plate?

Look for a truck or SUV because that looks like a tell-tale sign of a trailer hitch and ball.

Same Thing Happened to Me - Twice

I've had the left rear quarter panel and left rear door on my '06 TL 6MT A-Spec damaged twice in parking lots. Both times, no note or video to prove I didn't do it myself. Insurance company raised my rates after the second one.

Sorry to hear this happened to you dude! Nothing feels worse than having your car damaged by powers completely out of your control.

Because they'll have to repaint some part of your passenger rear quarter panel, I'd pay very close attention to where they blend and what have you. I've seen a lot of crappy blends along the A and C pillars of cars from my time working for body shops.

Unfortunately no, the camera footage did not catch any plates. And the restaurant tried to say that I was parked in the driveway when I emailed the corporate office about it. Even though I was in a legit spot.

The car was repaired, I just got it back a few days ago. I’ll post some pictures shortly.

Also, maybe do the shock sensor mod if you havent.

https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...-alarm-855658/

I did it when I had my Acura but regret not getting a dashcam. I have a blackvue 750 2ch on my truck.

Just had the same happen to....no note leaving m'fers.

1st estimate - $853

2nd estimate - $50 guy said he'll just heat it up, think he mentioned something about inferred? Anyways his first initial response when he saw it was "oh that's not bad at all" so maybe that's a good sign. I'm gonna give him a shot...

That should pop out very easily, seems like the bumper is only crunched in and not the metal.

If the bumper keeps popping out, you can get a new bumper clip for that corner and resolve the issue.

Feeling pretty good about this shop after some google searching, 27 reviews, all 5 stars. His reaction when first saw the damage was "no big deal" and then quotes me $50. Told him I came to him off his google reviews and he says "well I've worked hard for 18 years for them"

Then I get another quote (appointment was set before seeing this guy above and I didn't want to just not show up)

$1008 and change. They want to replace the bumper (ok maybe I get that) and get this...BOTH taillights What a racket my friends...

And csmeance I appreciate your help very much sir!

Took him 15 minutes...

He told me he heated it up pretty darn hot while keeping the heat moving in a circular direction. Got everything back where it needed to be and then shocked it with cold water. I am beyond happy (albeit this was done 2 hours ago) but I can see why this shop has the awesome reviews and has 18 years in business....

Now I have grounded this car until xmas lol. I've put 30,000 miles on the 07 since purchase with no issues, and 500 miles on the 08 since purchase and some methed out tweaker at walmart hits it. Ahhh the Ozarks.

Congrats on the results. There are a number of videos on YouTube showing how this is or can be done. YMMV

Sucks to see but at least it’s not the metal. My damage was about $2,300 worth and I didn’t think it would be that high.
