the HID's draw quite a bit on inital firing, but after that HID's draw only 35 watts. But they give out in excess of 3200 lumens (brightness), the average halogen gives out only 1000 lumens. DO NOT USE WATTAGE TO MEASURE BRIGHTNESS, THAT IS LUMENS

i understand that. a friend of mine is looking to get HID kit for his new car, it also has projectors. he wanted to know how many watts our TLS are.

Apparently there are two kits on the market, a 35w and now theres 50w kits.

I never had a car w/o HID so i have no clue and i misplaced my manual somewhere. lol

the seller is claiming that the 50w kit provides 33% more amount of light, but is double the price of the 35w, just trying to do some research to see if this seller is full of it.

He's probably trying to sell you a kit that has a 50W ballast. Only problem with that, is that most all HID bulbs are 35W. Now if the bulb are 50W, and the ballasts are 35W, that's even worse.

Just get a 35W kit. 50W is pointless. You'll get bettre light output if you improve the optics of the light itself... Such as replacing his halogen projectors with projectors that were meant to be used with a HID bulb.
