I can live with the 12K miles per year because I have the 2nd car.
Absolutely NOTHING (ZERO!) down, Honda of America paid the first month's payment for me (1st of 36, meaning I pay just 35) and the deal included sales tax (applies to the lease portion of the sale) and 1st year's registration.
So I make 35 payments of $339 per month, wear out the bigger rubber over the next 35 months, throw the OEM rubber back on and I'm done with it.

In terms of LS1 cars, Even Smith piloted a bone stock Z28 to a 12.89 for GM High Tech Performance Magazine. The 1LE car below was also bone stock and managed a 13.15 @ 108 MPH plus.
Granted, those are the exceptions rather the norm. But my point is that one doesn't ncessarily have to knock 3 full seconds off the stock ET in order to get an LS1 F-body into the (high) tens.
Some of the later LS1 F-bodies dynoed @ 320 plus REAR WHEEL HP in bone stock trim (and I do mean BONE STOCK). That's 89 less than the 409 figure I mentioned. A good cam, a good set of headers (open long tubes?) and few other external mods could certainly add 8X RWHP.

THIS is what MY '99 1LE Z28 looks like. I'm sorry I didn't include a rear-view shot of the car, because that's all you'd ever be seeing.
I don't expect you to understand this car, since it lacks 20" chrome wheels, a "slammed" (and probably geometrically incorrect) suspension, a hyperactive engine to which the term "torque" remains a mystery, etc...

Harddriven - if you enjoy a-spec (its basically handling ) and thats what is most important ( so important that you foolishly changed your mind to leasing honda accord.....and you think this z28 is king of sports car (is that your car picture? or just someone else's)
I don't get it. If handling was your most important factor then why the Z28? you seem contradictory in what you want and what you have.
Why not an STI? 4 door, it must be accepted as luxury since you are stepping up from chevy.
Or RX-8? even g35 and Z.....Cuz I agree on one thing.....a-spec kit is overpriced......i have stock 6 speed........but I bought my car for the right reasons, therefore very happy with purchase
I can't see how leasing a accord or a tricked out chevy make you darn happy.......especially the accord SEDAN.

The Accord EX/V6 sedan is a very comfortable, nice performing car for "everyday driving."
And I still have the 1LE for the days when I feel like attacking the road (and people driving Acuras who THINK they bought a fast car.)

If this was only about qtr mile times none of us would have bought the TL. I test drove an SS Camaro, it was a pile of crap, the Firebird was an only slightly better pile of crap, in any trim/power level.
In my last Mustang ('85 5Liter coupe) it ran 11.9's with off the shelf Ford parts, but again we need to digress because this thread was never about cars, it was about stupid head lights.

You didn't mention what you saw when you picked up the April issue of HOT ROD today....
