Doh!! You're absolutely correct, most all commercially available seat covers would greatly hinder proper deployment of the side airbags (very good point!). I'll swing by the local upholstery and inquire about a tailored cover for the drivers seat. Until then, I'll keep a towel or two handy in the car.

I'll take some pictures tonight and post them. They fit great and no more waiting for slow seat warmers.
They do have a little extra padding so the seats don't wrap around you as much; however, it's just a little different.

try jean seat international (http://www.autoseats.com/aboutus.html). their seat covers are custom made - the material is cotton twill. i have them on my 06 - $129.
Okay, after a few reminders, here are the pictures of my Wet Okole seat covers. Quality, fit and finish are top-notch. It's raining today so the pics kinda suck.

They did take a few weeks to make.

I just ordered mine...thanx for your help, I told them they should consider becoming a sponsor of acurazine
hey kilroy, do the seats match the interior pretty well when you're actually looking at them in person? Just curious, since from the pictures, it looks like they differ a little and am really looking into this especially since I have the same color combo (interior and exterior) like you! Thanks!
Also, is that color blue or black on the strips that outline the seat cover?

The sides are black. As an option, you can get the mocha color on the sides and you can even add colored piping. I like the contrast especially with the black dash and all-season floor mats.

2. Protect the leather seats
I have a 6 year old little boy and another on the way. I may get the cover for the rear seat. My only concern is it may require some disassembly.

In my opinion, no matter how nice they are they take away from the looks of the car plus you still need to maintain them like you would the seats.
In my dictionary, use the seats and if they wear out 5-10 years from now, then put the seat covers on an older car. It deserves it, then it adds to it looks instead of taking away from it
Unless, you want an old car with a brand new interior.
But to everyone has its way of thinking and there is really nothing wrong with it.
I totally agree with Mark about seat covers. Their place is on beat-up seats, not on new seats. KilroyR1, I have the same color scheme as you (ABP with Camel - down to the black winter floor mats)
It is an elegant interior and no seat covers will do it justice. I think it will be better to spend money on something like lexol so spills wipe of easily, than to put on seat covers.
I have learnt that bright two-tone interiors are nice, but probably not the best choice with kids
I have a 5yr old and a 2yr old who ride in the back almost daily. I lay down a camel color duvet (or any other thick cloth) before strapping in the 2yr old's seat so that any drink spills or crumbs get caught by the cloth. As for the 5yr old, I simply told her that the only thing she could drink in dady's car is water
