Engine Performance Mods

Any speculations on what will be the first mod to be released. Do you think the engine will be "Mod friendly" ? I went to Comptech's website to look at what is available for the Tsx. None of the Dyno's showed much hp gains if any at all. Will the Tl have the same results (low, gains)? Any speculations?

Wow, that's pretty awful. Only 10 whp and 10 # increases? The TSX's engine seems to come from the factory tuned at its maximum. The TL's engine, OTOH, seems to have a little extra. They did tune the A-spec engine to 300 hp...

Nothing short of forced induction is gonna net any big horsepower gains in the TL IMHO...5 hp here and 10 hp there max and you'll have to spend an inordinate amount of $$$ to do it. I'm thinking about a supercharger installation if it becomes available but S/C's have their own problems and I'd seriously consider going lower compression if I chose that route.

[Rant] Acura needs to get on board *NOW* with some serious performance upgrades like the TRD division for Toyota. Honda plays it WAY too conservatively for a manufacturer that prides itself on racing performance and integrating that technology into their products. [/Rant]

I hope I'm wrong and that a savvy tuner can find a little room in the fuel maps to squeeze out some easy horsepower. By the way, I contacted Jackson Racing a few days ago and they stated that they had "no plans at all" to develop performance upgrades for the TL. Bad news for us, and possibly a bad decision on their part. I think there's a good bit of aftermarket cash to be made on the new TL.

*Edit* and there's always nitrous...

I agree with you, we may be left with only forced induction for any reasonable gains on Hp. Well time will tell, hopefully when products are available for the Tl (comptech and others) the gains will be worth the money the manufacturers are asking.

Nobody can get 5hp for a 330 without s/c. Guys who have tried did timed runs before, after, and removed. Nothing, induction, exhaust and chip/rev limiter.
