The Acura TL group has organized a memorial cruise. It was picked up by the local News as seen here- Memorial ride planned for fatal East Greenwich crash victim | NJ.com
From the last post I saw they had 300+ cars showing up, not just Acuras. That's just incredible how people have come together.

The quality of members / TL owners has dropped considerably over the years....LOL.lamenting over a car... if you only had a clue.

Sounds like another victim of a cost-cutting culture at Trinity Industries. I wonder how the people involved in the decision to save money at the cost of killing people sleep at night.
The TL driver seems to have made one mistake, that of over-correction. It's a forgivable one for an inexperienced driver (or anyone who isn't a racer) and with the excellent survivability of our TL (less people die in our car than in any other sports sedan of the era) you might have expected them to walk away.
Very, very sad story. RIP, fellow TL lover.

Condolences and RIP. Sad situation all around.
Like many other tragic sitautions, a multitude of factors caused this:
-the pontiac speeding
-the passenger standing up through sunroof which decreased visibility from driver's side
-unfortunate timing of Lexus being in that same lane as the TL was switching back
-the location of the guardrail at time of TL losing control
-the build quality/material/location/etc. of that specific guard rail
-the possible mob/heightened mentality of group rides (we've all seen those mustang week crash videos and other group ride hectics)
-the height/shape/form of a lower slung sedan (looks like guardrail pierced right through middle of windshield?) being driven (ie, had they bee in a bigger SUV may have not been fatal)
Understandably, family likely will start filing wrongful death suits.
But not sure we can pin point any blame on any one person...all parties played some role to combine for a terrible outcome.
Moral of story: control what you can in your own actions when you drive, be as safe as possible.
