I have a 2005 SSM TL ... looking to get the swap for cleared and blacked out lights... i want angel eyes i dont know what zkw's are but i also like that dual halo. how much is this gonna cost and what should i get i also want 6000 or 8000k

 

i want to get my 2008 tl-s headlights cleared with halo lights. Not sure if i want to have the corners carbon fibered or just leave it cleared. Which looks better on a white TL-s? Carbon fiber corners or just plain cleared corners? JnC how much would it be to clear corners and add halos?

 

ZKW replica clear lenses are clear lenses to replace your stock fresnel lenses, they insure a sharp cut off with more light towards the corners of the beam and a more even beam pattern. The dual halo kit is advertised to be 8000k and 10000k on ebay which is 2000k more than the normal single halo kit I have been installing. Installation of the halo kit is free of charge, you just have to provide the halos. My labor to black out/clear headlights is $150 plus core exchange/trade in charge of $25 and applicable shipping charges.

On white TL-S I would suggest going with blacked out turn signal. As I stated above, dual halo kit for the TL-S is $130 or so from ebay and I install them free of charge. My labor to clear/black out the headlights would be $150.

 

I have a set of 07-08 Type S blacked out/cleared V.2 headlights available for trade in the FS/FT section if anyone of you guys is interested in a trade. The kicker is that there is no labor charge, its a straight trade for your stock 3G type S headlights for my blacked out ones. .

hm... the damage seems somewhat severe. will the damage be noticable once installed to the car? I think i'd rather pay and get them cleared than to trade in damage headlights. I'm very interested in getting my headlights cleared blacked out with halos. So how would i install the headlights once the halos are installed in to the headlights? Would i have to do a separate wiring with halos? Also do you install resistors for the corner?

the black ones with the red halo eyes are siiick... awesome job.

 

I bought my on ebay but from the company directly. There the blacked out with the red ccfl's and the carbon fiber insert on page 7. JNC does a great job, I recommend him greatly, my lights came out beautifully!

Also painted the extra silver strip towards the corners NGP, painting the strip was pain in the rear end.

 

No there not bad at all. Having the backup cam makes it much easier to see behind me.

Ya he'll ship to canada. You can go on canada or uspost websites to get rough idea on price to ship. Overnight is extremely pricey there and back and is why I have yet to send mine in, even though all my goodies are at JnC's place waiting to go in =(

Do you have a pic of a before and after bulb swap to show the difference of the output?

 

I cant find the picture I took before I swapped out the bulbs in my headlights so I did the following test shoot.

You may not be able to see the difference due to the close proximity of the door shown in the picture but at night the difference in intensity/color is huge.

Bulbs used

Osram Xenarc D2S

Taken out an 06 TL, this is the bulb that comes standard in out TLs. Bulbs are severely color shifted and should be around 2800 lumens rather than 3200 lumens, which they were when they were brand new. Color is around 4800k due to color shift, color is rated at 4300K when brand new.




Phillips 85122+ D2S

The most potent D2S bulb available on the market due to the fact that it doesnt colorshift so it wont loose its intensity over its life and neither will it change color. These are rated at 4200K from factory with light output being at 3400 lumens.
Bulbs have been used in my car for about 3 years.



Phillips 85122 WX (Ultinon)

Popular high kelvin OEM bulbs, rated at 6000k and 2400 lumens.

JnC just want to double check real quick. They black out is also taking out the orange reflector correct? Also what is the V2?

Lastly what are the 85122+ selling for?

This animation should help, notice the output towards the edges. When I bought my TL the output towards the sides was next to nothing with the osrams, once I switched to the philips all was well.
