VLEDs found on eBay are white and bright. I did that mod for my license plate lights and am very satisfied. Not sure how the reverse lights will look though.

This is what I did to get brighter backup lights for my '06 Pilot and my '08 TL-S. I have had both in for about a year with no problems and very bright back up lights.

open your trunk pop out the rubber bump stops (2), remove the plastic clips (not all of them, just enough to pull back liner) with a flat head screw driver or knife, pull back the liner and ta-da. access to both the license plate and reverse light bulbs.

No, but really bright license plate lights do kill the night camera visibility. My rear view camera works better at night before I switch on my lights

White LED License Plate

V-LED, 5LED configuration, there are more LED ones

Left is LED, Right is stock bulb. Notice the white vs. yellow color.

Night shot.

They are very bright and it's a very simple swap of the bulb. No messing with electrical.

I'm using those for my reverse lights.

I'm using these for my license plate bulbs. Again, very bright, clean hyper white look.

I don't think the 5 LED will be as bright as the license plate lights. If you read up on the design of the licence plate lights, they have a full 180 degree light output which is perfect for coverage of your license plate. If you really want something bright, check out the cold cathode DIY mod. That's probably the brightest option but requires a little work to install. These bulbs are just plug and play.

But dont the 5 led's appear to be the same as the stock lights or is it just me? Shouldnt they accomplish the same thing as the stock lights but a little better?

885's.... Hmmmm there is part of me that wants to do it, there is part that thinks that it would be bad to melt the back of my car. Is there a thermal-couple that I can sneak in there so it wont melt the lens. Or is this not necessary?

I have had them in my wife's Honda Pilot for 2 years and in my 08 TL-S for about 6 months. They are only on for a few minutes at the most. Not enough time to generate enough heat to melt anything.
