>>Comptech upgrades - FYI<<

Spoke with Rob at Comptech this afternoon. There are a couple products due out soon.

CAT Back Exhaust- 2 wks

Rear Sway Bar- 3 wks

Supercharger and Ice Box- August

Down Pipe - Not yet. Still working on it

He was not sure if Comptech is going to make lowering springs made specifically for the 04 TL.

Thanks for posting. I'm looking forward to seeing the down pipes. I wonder if the Ice Box will be 2nd gen style (I hope) or TSX style...

The springs that Comptech are using were designed for the 03-04 Accord. Eibach is no different

I heard that Eibach will be manufacturing all springs for Comptech very soon.

That would be great to have the Superchager before the next "Twisty Run" in August.

Aegir, finally got my car back today! I almost forgot how awesome this car is. I had the induction done a little different. I see you have an intake now, how is that working compared to before? I may eventually break the stubborness and just can this whole "K&N plus modified intake and get an Injen. I had my induction setup so it still gets air through the bumper inlet and still has the resonator, but eliminates the twist up and around by the battery, just takes air in right through the resonator and up to the filter. I must say I don't notice any sound or performance changes! Then again, I haven't driven the car in a month...on topic, I am definitely looking forward to any non rice upgrades. I may even switch out for some freer flowing mufflers while still keeping the exhaust stock.

I'm assuming that since the supercharger is not made by Honda it will void your factory warranty, is this correct? Any ideas on price and hp+?

I traded in a 300hp Toyota 4-Runner with the dealer installed TRD package (supercharger, headers, and cat back exhaust) for my TL and one of the main selling points for the TRD package was that I could keep my extended factory warranty. I sure wish Honda had a racing development team like Toyota.

I talk to a local dealer in the area that is a comptech dealer they say as long as I purchase and install the supercharger through them they will honor the factory warranty. But just in case I will make sure I get it in writing when the supercharger becomes avalible.

Most of The Crew, Sactown Motoring, has Superchargers on their 2nd Generation TL's And CL's. Some of the guys had their superchargers installed by an area Acura Dealership (Neilo), and it did not void any warranties. Neilo works exclusively with Comptech. They are located only miles from one another. Not sure what the HP increase is but the guys spent between 5k and 6k installed

I wonder the reason that Comptech will make a SC but not a trubo for our car. I have heard that because of the belt or chain setup of the supercharger it can be very hard on your engines. Also, there are turbo type controllers out now for some cars that can boost turbo from 7-9psi up to like 15-17psi...if comptech does not make a turbo which they probably won't, anyone think somehting like this is possible with a SC?

Wow...this sounds exciting.
But super charger runs like $4k + installation right? What kind of power incrase would we get? Who should we look for to do installations?

I wish I got the money

indeed.. with an 11:1 compression ratio i doubt you could run more than 5psi or so reliably without blowing the engine... youd have to go to 9.5:1 compression to run high boost... (10-15psi)
