a little venting

Don't get me wrong. I love my car. Would buy it again if I needed another one, but nothing is perfect. Few things that piss be off on my beautiful machine:

AWFUL TURNING RADIUS
Plastics and trims scratch extremely easy

yup, well that's about it for now. Only 2 things, not bad at all

moreace is right. The turning radius was an issue with the 2G TL as well. I've never had to make so many 3-point turns; it's like I'm in driving school again. What's more important is moreace's last sentence.

Mercedes turning radius in unbelievable

Oh yea, and the navigation, which I love and is extremely useful; the places feature is awful and fails a lot more often than it helps

Try the "Advanced" search in "Places". It lets you enter a keyword. I often find what I'm looking for there better than the other categories. I've found that more things seem to show up there.

The info I got was:
Maxima turning circle 12.192m, which is 40.0000 ft
TL turning circle.........12.100m, which is 39.6982 ft

You're right. The Maxima turning circle is greater than ours by a whopping .092m, which doesn’t look like much if you are not used to the metric system.

But it looks worse when you convert it to inches, because then the variance is 8”, which is enough to make a difference.

Just yanking your chain. You're right, both are excessive and require a lot of extra turning.

Turning radius is horrible due to FWD.

Used to own a '91 Legen that was FWD but had the engine mouned longitutinally instead of transversely.

The wheelbase was longer by 5 inches and the turning radius was 34 feet instead of 40 feet!

I miss that benefit every time I turn the wheel all the way.

FWD is not the issue

Plenty of FWD cars have much smaller turning radii. I think the issue is probably constraints imposed by some of the sheet metal. Why? My wife's MDX (same same platform, boxier sheet metal) has a much tighter turning circle.

Honda should consider All Wheel Steer for future TL's. I had a AWS Prelude in the mid-80's which was a blast to drive AND it turned on a dime . . . literally.

So far with my machine however Abyss Pearl Blue, the wheel shake is gone with no service, no rattles, the rust in the tail pipes has dissapeared, and it still catches the eyes of a lot of TL wannabee's on the road. as well as everyone wants to race.

Anyone know why Honda abandoned this technology? It looked like a great idea. Do any other car manuf. use it?
