Car Bra for 2007+?

I'm moving to TX next month and will be towing the TL on a car dolly behind the moving truck.

I've decided the best/easiest way to protect the car is with a car bra (just while it's in transit)

No one seems to make a car bra except for the 2004-2006. Do you think I could make a 2004 fit on my 2007? It just needs to keep the rocks off without flapping too much going down the road.

Input is appreciated.

lilsid-How do you like the clearbra so far and do you feel it was worth it?

Also, what brand did you go with?

Scotty

You moving to Austin? or some shithole like Houston?

btw.. if you're moving to TX, might as well invest in a clear bra coating. Your front bumper will get destroyed by road conditions here. I have thousands of little rock chips and even several burned rubber bits from exploding tires from big rigs riddled across my front.

Scotty, don't buy a bra for one trip. Tape her up and you'll be fine.

Its funny that you guys mention painter's tape. I was actually going to do mine up like lilsid posted. Then I thought I'd need more protection. Then I thought about laying down the tape and putting the bra on over it.

If no bra: how many layers of the blue tape??

Majofo: Moving to the Fort Worth North area. Everyone says it's really nice...? Your thoughts?

You could do a lot worse, it's a nice area, not too sure about the social activities though.. good Azine community there too! Not like the deviants in Houston.

Introduce yourself, I'm sure they'll answer any question you have about the Ft. Worth / Dallas area:

PS, almost moved to Houston. Had a job offer there. Was looking at Conroe and The Woodlands. Would that have been a good move? Also, just HOW bad is the traffic in the N Fort Worth area?

How much did your clear bra cost? I'm seriously considering 3M Scotch Guard. Should I wait until I move next month or is the warranty good nation wide?

Personally I went with Xpel due having a white car. It supposedly won't yellow on me since I have a white car. If I didnt have a white car, I would have just gone with 3M. I got it done at a shop in Orlando which are suppose to be best. They wrap all the Ferraris, Lambos, and what not at the local dealership. Xpel was a bit more then 3M but I paid $380 to have the bumper and lower aspec lip done. Since a buddy did his ///M at the time they gave us both 15% percent off.

I pretty happy with the clear bra this far. I've had it for about five months and Im chip free. Xpel is warranted for five yrs I believe which covers, yellowing and cracking in the film. My warranty is good nationwide at any authorized Xpel installers.

I would think a roll of the industrial plastic wrap (used for wrapping boxes on pallets) would work really well in this situation as well.

I also wouldn't spend money on a bra just for transport.

Alternate to painters tape and its more resilliant and resists chips better is black electrical tape.

I apply it over the front of my car every winter and its is great .. also removing is easy .. just face the car into the sun for 10 min. & peel off.

Uses about 5 rolls @$1 / roll from WalMart. It also contours around curved areas better than painters tape.

Dont forget the backs of the mirrors & the "A" pillars.

^^ I would expect that takes a lot of time, due to the tape being so narrow.
