I Have a NOOB Question..

I just recently bought an 04 TL, its been great so far, no issues, love it. How do recalls work? Can I bring the car in at any time and have them fix the recalls or does the car have to be under any type of dealer warranty? I bought it privately, but I want to make sure these recalls are made on the car. I already know this is a noob question so I figured I'd title it that from the start haha

Take it to Acura for a random oil change and while it's their they will correct all recalls

just bring it to the dealer for an oil change and request they check for recall I did this with every time I got a new car.

If there are open recalls, the repair is FREE and REQUIRED, regardless of warranty status.

It is not necessary to bring the car in for something else (i.e. oil change, etc) to get recalls checked. You can do that at anytime via telephone or by stopping by the dealer. Just have them run a VIN check for open recalls. You can also register at myacura.com and they will post recalls there for your VIN. You can also store your radio and navi codes there.

There is another catagory of known/common problems - Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's). For those they will normally perform the repair for free IF you have the symptom described by the TSB and IF you car is in the VIN range specified and IF you are still under warranty.

The will sometimes 'good will' a TSB repair if you are out of warranty, but are not required to do so. They also do not have to inform you of TSB's that may affect your vehicle.

You can look up TSB's here: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-technical-service-bulletins-tsbs-3g-garage-j-016-a-613659/

Now let me ask you guys this, my 2004 A/T TL with 74k seems to be driving a little funny when it comes to power steering. I think I read something about this in the past, but is it true that when the steering wheels kind of clicks its way back to a straight position after taking a slow turn it means the power steering pump needs to be replaced? I'm curious if this is happening because of the hose recall or if its more than that and I'm going to end up paying for a new power steering pump.. Anyone experience this?
