At shifter knob replacement help

So I know I will probably get a lot of crap from this noob question, but I would rather get the flack and get it right than the inverse. So I recently bought an NRG carbon fiber replacement shifter knob for my 04 TL AT and I cannot seem to get it to fit properly. Apart form the obvious; the three black plastic cylinder parts that inclose the space inside the shifter knob, the allen wrench screws, and the metal housing on the bottom of the shift knob, all are installed correctly as I can see. The problem however, is that the knob still turns loosely after installed. What am I missing?

I don't think your missing anything. Many people have had the same issue as you because those black cylinder pieces are generic and don't fit exact. You'll have to improvise and put something in there to keep it from spinning. Plumbers tape comes to mind as something that might help.
