Thumbs up Butt Prints

This was a hot topic where I, like many others, was worried their seats would soon look like crap. Well 3,500 miles later, they haven't gotten any worse, in fact they're quite acceptable for leather seats.
How are your seats doing?

I'm only 1800 miles in, but I have found the leather is getting a bit more pliable...the prints just don't stay there as long now.

I'm really happy with the comfort and support that the seats lend also.

Butt/knee print

I made the mistake of kneeling on my driver seat when my TL was less than a week old. I have a noticeable 'dent' but it seems to be getting better. I've been thinking about treating it with something that might relax, then tighten the leather, but I have no idea if there IS such a thing.

Any suggestions?

I totally love my seats. My friend has a 2003 TL-P and he got in my car, sat for a few seconds and just looked at me in disbelief.

As I said in my 3-month review, my butt-prints are no worse after nearly 4000 miles. The seat is just as comfortable, and the leather is just fine.

Quick dent-related question...as I mentioned above, I am happy with my seats, but I do have a dent issue...I tend to rest my arm on the window sill (i'm kind of tall and it is most comfortable that way) and have found that there is a slight indentation where my elbow rests. Anyone else??

No. I rest my arm in the same location.

I drive resting the same way and have not noticed any dents.

My passenger side and right back seat (behind the front passenger) has really bad butt prints... the leather looks really loose and worn there. Not sure what's going on, and it never gets better.

I was watching Motorweek last week and they tested a Catty SUV and I noticed the put prints in that too. I look at it this way - seats are to sit in not look at so I'm not worrying about it.

You name it, I've had it. The best seats are TL, BMW 3&5 sport seats and 850 t5 Volvo seats.

The TL seats are great and I like my butt prints.

Take some pictures and hang em up on the wall! Butt prints are unique, just like fingerprints!

Nope -- just responding to your comment about how you like your butt prints.

I have had the same problem with "elbow dent" on my Window Sill. The dealer replaced the Door Panel on Dec. 18 after I had had the car for about a month. Last night I noticed it was doing the same exact thing to this new Door Panel. I am at a loss as to what to do about this long term. I don't think Acura or the Dealer would be too willing to replace the Door Panel every month. I just don't think there is any solution to this problem for those of us that use the Window Sill is a second Arm Rest.

Glad to hear it, but I've always felt as if the concern was over blown. Just properly condition the leather, keep it clean, and it will last the life of the car.

My seats are looking fine after almost 2000 kms. I've looked at other leather seats and have seen the same degree of ceases and butt prints in the ones with good soft leather.
