Black roof on white TL
I want to get my roof painted black. The only thing i am still considering is how it is going to look against my car which is pearl white. I would link a picture but since I stil am not a full member the site wont let me!
Does any one have a white tl withs black roof?? How does it look?? Thanksss

I love the look... thinking about doing it to my WDP also! Vinyl gloss for sure. There is a user on here that has a WDP Type S with some great mods, black rims (Can't think of his name) but he has a black roof and sold me on it.

I would say do it, but have it vinyled instead.
It will usually cost much less than paint, and it will be removable if you don't like it. More importantly, if you ever plan on selling your car in the future, any paintwork will usually lower the value.
Vinyl is the way to go. I think it looks best on white cars.

I disagree w/ the paint will cheapen it. Paint makes it look OEM in fact a lot of cars now come with the roofs painted all black the same as the mirrors.
Vinyl leaves a residue from the glue that can make the paint discolor and then when you do remove the roof is a darker color then the rest of the car.

I think what he means is that a buyer may be suspicious of a car with paintwork. Thinking the car may have incurred some type of damage, thus lowering the potential resale. Vinyl could be removed. Also if a potential buyer doesn't like the look, it could be removed.

a friend of mines had a 2008 wdp tl and he painted the roof black. To his surprise since the car was a lease, the dealer told him the car would sell faster with the black roof so he lefted like that since he was planning to painted back wdp. With that said i doubt the value of the car will be lower!

Id say black out the roof...before i purchased my black 6spd tl I spent my entire search efforts trying to locate a white one...I still crave the white one instead of the black...so if ANYONE wants to do a straight up swap just let me know!

OP definitely vinyl up that roof in high gloss black!! Pics don't do the look justice....I've seen it in person and its 100 times more striking than in pics!
