Any way to lock the center console open?

I have a 2008 5AT and when the center console is closed, it's a bit too high up for me to reach the shifter comfortably. When I open the center console i can comfortably rest my elbow down and access the shifter without having to bend my wrist. But with the center console open, if i hit the breaks it shuts when i hit the brakes.

Any mods for keeping it open? Or any other possible solutions?

Wtf lol. Never heard someone having to leave the console up. What are your arms insanely long or something?! And no there is no way to lock it in the up position. If anything, why not just get your philips screw driver and remove it all together? Still one of the weirdest things I have heard of on this forum though haha.

no need for a pic, i think we all know what you're talking about....

you need to adjust yourself to the car.
adapt.
change.

you dont even use it but twice when you're going from one place to another

I think a longer shifter handle would actually do the trick. do they sell those?

From: is everything.
Just make an arm that attaches to the top tray and drill a keyhole in the lower part of the console. Open it up, pop the arm end into the keyhole and the lid will stay open.
