I had the 3M CS put on my 06 TL. Price was $200 for two back doors and back window. Door wipes were sent out to have felt installed, no peel and stick here. Felt was only $15 per door!

You guys need to get something going and get this thing done. I have been watching this and I know Automall or any other tint shop you might use wouldn't want to sign on as a vendor here because of the limited number of people he would get and also the fact that he is not selling a widely distributed product so this i kind of an unofficial Group Buy, but we don't want this thing to drag on forever.

hey guys, not sure how much of a rainy winter season we're going to have.....perhaps too much global warming!!??!!

Anyway, my ride is coming from the paint-shop this week and will be getting the tints done along with my GF's accord by the end of this month.

Any of you guys in the cal/bay area still down to get some tint?

I think we've got 2 locations in mind. One in Pleasanton/Livermore area and another place in Fremont. Doesn't matter to me either way.

Let me know.

I just got 3m CS installed on my car last week...
Total price wa s 159.00 but that was the middle type price. The most expensive blocked the most sun and kept the car coolest was 199. Mine has a lifetime warrenty against scratching and bubling and color changes. Very happy with it, seems expensive, but I'm in south florida where the majority of cars are tinted cause its so hot...

Hey for the bay area people, have you guys tried getting a quote from Omega Tintwerkz? I heard the one guy who is in charge of it does a great job. Kinda wanna see some reviews there because I wanna possibly get it done over there. THeir highly regarded by Clubrsx and couple other forums and is really close to Acura of Pleasanton.

just wanted to add my experience with 3M tint.

did a 35% all around 3M CS tint for 5 windows, total 190 including 4 felts installed. the shop is located in westlake village, california (souther cal)

so i agree from previous posts that 300+ may be a lil too much.

Hi Special-Ed,

Do you know what if there is an updated price for tinting seeing that it's January now and the price you were quoted originally was in August? I just got my NBP a couple months ago and might be interested in tinting too.

Thanks,

Sam

I'll go in there this friday ( I think my car gets finished either thursday or friday) and see what he can do. So as of that last quote, he was quoting me $300 for suntek all around with felts included for 3 cars (4 maybe but don't remember). Mine will be a little more expensive since I'm going with V-kool front tints which block out more UV without the tint being too dark to avoid hassle from the cops.

I'll see who on this thread is still interested in getting tints to get a final tally then I'll do the negotiating for....
1) 3 cars only (mine, gf's accord, yohan's or whomever's car)
2) then ask about 5 cars
3) then ask about 8 cars

....basically see what kind of price breaks we can get based on quantity. With this sunny weather in January, it's kind of killing the "master plan" so we'll see what happens. Would prefer to go in and ask when it's been raining out but maybe business has slowed enough because I'm not sure how many people buy new cars at the very beginning of the year.

Like I said, it doesn't matter where we go, but I think after a few people were getting quotes, we figured that this place in fremont was essentially throwing in the felt installation for free.

Ok guys, I sent pm to most of you. Sloppysam and Reloaded, if you guys want to get in on something, let me know. Looking to get this done before january ends. That gives us 3 weeks basically. Reloaded, if you get a chance, see what kind of pricing it is for just 1 car @ omega and what it includes.

Thanks guys.

Thanks alot Special-ed, End of Jan sounds good for me. I'll let you know hopefully by this week or early next week on my decision.

My friend actually referred me to a place called Preferred Image in Redwood City. They quoted me $200 for 7 windows + the felt installation. He got his wife's TSX and his dad's Odyssey done there, and his friends G35 and 06 TL was done there too. So far they all love the tints. I'm really just worried about the tint that they used. Have anyone here heard or used SunGard? Any opinions? How does it compare with the Suntek's HP's?

Thanks,

Sam

P.S. Sorry for hijacking the thread..

I'm still interested in tinting my windows sometime soon and I might just head over to that Fremont shop to check it out. Plus, I like the fact that someone mentioned he has a contract with Concord Acura, so he's very familiar with TL's.

If we're still doing the group buy, let me know.

hey guys, I'm still here but had to finish up some other mods first installing new floor carpet, new tails, etc. If it rains sometime this coming week, I'll make it a point to get over there and get some pricing. I'd go today, but it's pretty sunny out.

Don't know too much about SunGuard so can't offer any input on it.

Hi Special-ED,

I apologize, but i think i'll be going to the other place my friend referred me to. I saw the tint job they did on my friends car and his other friends car and it looked good.

Thanks and good luck with your tint.

Hey Special-Ed,

Here's the shop details:

Preferred Image
650-366-8468
1757 E. Bayshore Rd.
Redwood City, CA

I spoke with a guy named John, and he quoted me $200 for all 7 windows with the felt installation. (this was in early Jan)

A couple of my other friends are wanting to tint their cars as well, so I'm probably going to go in together with them to get the price down lower. Not sure when their availability is tho, but perhaps it'll be in Feb.

They gave two choices, but i didn't get a chance to catch both. One of them is Sungard.

I guess u can go and give them a call and ask what the other one is.

Thanks,

Sam
