3G AT vs 328i AT

Low down, it was close. 25MPH, started gaining on him. 40MPH, he gave up.

1.5~2 cars estimated from left mirror. Once I was in 4000+RPM, I was pulling.

3G AT w/ 2psgr vs 323i w/ 1psgr (not sure of tranny)

It was close, I started pulling above 5000RPM on first gear.
It was closer than the 328i I tried couple days ago.

I had 89 gas in tank and more passenger lagged me down at low to mid range

The first E36 328i was introduced as a 1996 model. The last E46 328i was sold as a 2000 model.

I think you are confusing it with the 318i. A 328i is a quick car. Even the automatics should run 15s.

How would you feel if I told you that both of you are racing slow cars. Its pointless to race those cars. There both 15-17 sec cars. Its alittle better than 2 neons racing. Our cars after all are honda's relieble but not race cars
If you want to race get a real car with balls.

Dont let these guys burst your bubble. After getting trounced by an STi and a new mustang GT, i returned back to picking on neons/integras/civics a rsx-s and someone's black 330ci. Woo, it feels good to be on top again

2005 is the E46 chassis and the M54B30 engine.

2006 was the first year of the E90 platform and the new, more powerful N series engine.

Your room mate should beat you everytime with approx. 0.5-1cl providing the fact that you are both stock and stick.
Personally I've seen about 5 drag strip races between the new 330i and 2004-2005 TL all stock and manual transmision and 4 times out of 5 330i won, the only time when 330i didn't win was against a silver 2005 Acura TL A-Spec, they raced twice and both times they were dead even.
Here are some numbers for your convenience:

2005 Acura TL Manual Transmission
0-60 mph 5.7sec
Street start, 5-60 mph 6.3sec
Standing 1/4-mile 14.4 sec @ 99 mph
Top speed (governor limited) 152 mph
Top-gear acceleration
30-50 mph 10.4sec
50-70 mph 10.3sec

2006 BMW 330i Manual Transmission
0-60 mph: 5.6sec
Street start, 5-60 mph: 6.0sec
Standing 1/4-mile: 14.3 sec @ 98 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 155 mph
Top-gear acceleration
30-50 mph: 9.5sec
50-70 mph: 8.6sec

Correction. His bmw is in fact the 2006 model but in automatic. Mine is auto as well, but then again I have the right mods to whoop on him.

I've raced the new 330i once in limited speed range (stop to around 45MPH).
We were neck to neck. auto vs auto manual vs manual, I'd bet my money on driver's race.
