That's what we did wrong. You aren't supposed to just use topsoil. With watering, it turned hard as rock and the roots weren't able to breath (so we were told). We mixed in 2/3s potting mix with 1/3 top soil, and everything is happy now.

Not sure...
why all the hostility all of a sudden?
You were playing nice. Can't be because my lawn is super superior alone!!!

Ah...gotcha...well, I think the SQ had the big turbo 6 like yours...

Hmmm...S4's are so nice. I don't forget that the damn Audi was the most refined and best car I'd driven...sound system, acceleration, power delivery...the leather...just was awesome.

Potting mix works but is pricey. Just DIY. 60% pulverized topsoil, 20% sand, and 20% compost.

My neighbor says he always looks for a local landscape place that sells to the public...he bought 2 or 100 yards or whatever of dirt and topsoil mix in the back of his Dodge...filled up the bed and only cost him $35.

Since I'm just a stupid noob, how does one use quick detailer to clean a car? Just spray the whole car down one panel at a time and wipe off with a rag or something?

A5 = 2.0T
S5 = 3.0 SC

Q5 = 2.0T or 3.0SC (or 3.2 NA for older models)
SQ5 = tweaked 3.0SC (+20hp bc of cooling I think)

So the jump to a S in the Q line isn't quite as big as the others.

were you the one that said the new body styles were not cool? I swear the older Q5 was meaner looking than the damn brand new ones on the lot. I told her, you know...I think your Cadillac looks more aggressive.

So $10 x 28 or so? Say the shrubs are half a tree? So you spent $300 on potting mix?

If I ordered $300 worth of 60/20/20 from the local dirt place they would be dropping off six cubic yards of soil. Lol

It hasn't rained on my car for three weeks. No dirt just dust. QD works just fine. Call it 'maintaining' or 'washing' as you please.

Your attitude has gone beyond obtuse to just plain childish at this point. Move on.

I must be full on sissy, because that makes me slightly nervous. I suppose if there was only superficial dust, I could see how that would work. But for a car that, like gets driven every day, I don't understand how you don't scratch the absolute living shit out of the paint doing that.

Plus, if I'm going around and spraying every panel before wiping down, I don't see that' it's much more effort to use a hose to blast it with piss and soap.

I must do more research.

There's no way anyone will ever convince me to wipe anything over an unwashed car. NBP PTSD
I even have a big thing of ONR I won and I only used it once.

FWIW, i don't use quick detailer to wash my car, i use this: http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotiv...-wax-anywhere/

QD is for 'just before' a show or in between washes. If i have a LOT of dirt caked on, i drive down to the ol' self car wash, drop it 4 dubloons, and spray her down, then come back, use the Anywhere Wash and Wax, or Optimum No Rinse or whatever you please.

not that you asked my opinion but i gave it to you anyway

Hmmm. Wait for good light/shade. Get out everything. Wash. Rinse. Dry. Damn door jambs are wet. Clean those. Dry. Damn TL side mirrors. Dry that again. Move the car. Damn needs dried again. Damn I missed those water spots. I guess I'll have to QD those away anyway!

Or

Spray, wipe, done.

I've done this for years. My paint has always been immaculate.

But you also go to the car wash and spray all the grime off. That's like 80% of the "wash" portion of the equation (fucking math dorks, hot dog cart, internet jerking, etc.).

So it sort of seems like you think QD isn't a good "wash-on-its-own" method... otherwise you'd skip the coinop and go straight to scratchytown???
