I think (for whatever that is or isn't worth), that if you can cover the cost of the mortgage without undue stress, and can also find a renter to pay it for you, then it's not a bad investment.
When you have someone in the house, you're pretty much getting free equity, but you don't want to be in a tough situation when you don't have someone in it.
But I also have an impressively weak investment portfolio (mostly late '80s and early '90s baseball cards and common comic books), so YMMV.
I used to laugh at Pinterest... until I started seeing the cool stuff people build. Now it's inspiration city!! Not sure if it will happen with this table, but I'd like to do something like this, to finish it off:
Use a router to cut whatever shape into the table, paint the inside black, lay down rocks and then cover in a clear, UV resistant resin. It'll look so gangster. Props again, to Pinterest
I'm not even kidding...I love vroom vroom and 6mt but I swear the more trips we take with the wife and baby in my car...the more i wish it was more practical and comfortable to go run errands in.
Wagon is out anytime soon....too much cash for a used GM IMO. German is too scary...went to test drive Audi/BMW Suv's this weekend to scratch an itch for the wife...greeted by the dealerships BOTH being closed at 6pm on a weekend. Now tell me again how in the long run Hitler didn't win?
I wish I wasn't again leasing...I'd go lease something irresponsible for 2 years.
Joe, it's a vehicle, and it's sporty and has utility. Not sure why you hate that I call it that.

Q7 and X4?
I would have to lease one of them. I don't want to deal with the maintenance.
