the hot will still be hot if it's power into light.. If power is going to the switch box and the switch is off, then there would be no power in the light fixture junction box 
Your so-called "power into light" is end line hookup.
Look at the fucking picture you posted, the positive is not connected to the light.
It connects to the white wire with black line. That connects to the switch.
From the switch it connects to the positive line of the bulb.
IOW, power goes to switch first just like the other diagram. They're essentially the same.

Since J is officially gone.. good riddance. Begging Taco to come back and shit (read cum and shit on his back).
Anyways, I hired an "electrician" to replace my stairway fixture. It's 25 feet high, right over the stairs.
I didn't want to rent scaffolding or build a platform to change it.
This fucking guy stood on the rail dangling over the stairs (key: dangle at an angle)
Only charged $70..
Anyways, I asked him if he needed access to breaker and he's like nah, switch is off.
Teh fuck.. my first job was facilities at an observatory. I had to lockout and tag everything I did.
So I always hit the pussy switch as habit. Anyways, this fucking guy almost died.
One, there are multiple switches to the fixture
Two, he didn't even verify it was off (the bulb could have been burned out ffs).
Three, his fucking multimeter and tester were in the truck.
How do I know tester and multimeter were in the truck???
He hooked up the new fixture and was like.. wtf it's not turning on.
So he dangles it with one hand, untwists the wirenuts and checks the wires by hand.
Twists them back up again, then goes and gets the tester in the truck.
He taps the bulb connectors.. no go.. then is like ah! there's a fucking switch on the fixture itself.
He goes to turn on the switch on the wall and it's already on.. he didn't turn it off after first trying to turn it on.
Remind you, he was checking the exposed wires while it had juice.. dangling 25 ft over the rail.
Welp, no biggie, he lived.. lawsuit averted.
