Joe, you already know it, man...if I had a stressful job, baby probably would be listed on craigslist.
Although they do have me doing some asinine blue collar bs today.
Are you close to wrapping that project up and not travelling so much or is that just an indefinite timeline?
I had a similar schedule for a while, back in the day, and it sucked. Especially since I was travelling to a Small Town™ with a Very Popular Collegiate Football Team™, so every other week I got put in the shitty hotel on the other side of town because of the influx of woohoo'ers that pushed the room rates out of per diem.
Didn't mind the travel so much, but it got old never being in one place. Well, and the breakneck "run across O'Hare to catch the connection" twice a week wasn't so great.
My previous roll off date was 12/31 but this project's looking a bit bleak.. I got extended to 3/31 now I've gotten on really good terms of this hotel sales manager and she finds availability for me even when it's 'full' so i get some consistency then.. I don't mind the travel (the red-eyes are wearing me a bit thin Sunday nights) but the worst part of this project is just the lack of commitment from clients so there's a LOT of twiddling of thumbs (aka getting in trouble on AZ). I'll be at home until next year starting tomorrow so there's that to look forward to

Ha ha, yeah, that was sort of funny to me too. It was strange forming these little mini-relationships with the folks you see every week. Especially in a small town... There was only like one guy at the rental car return area, two TSA agents, a handful of hotel people. I blew through Security late AF a few times and I'm convinced it was because they were just like "oh, it's you! You're late this week... just go on - better run!"

Yeah.. well Raleigh isn't TOO small but when you go every week, they start to remember you..
especially in Bible belt being a ( not so ) I stand out like a fucking yellow sore thumb.
The breakfast staff at the hotel know me now so there's that
Honestly, in college, it was all the rage. EVERYONE's dream job was 'be a consultant'. You travel every week, stay in hotels, meals paid for.
It gets draining sometimes but I still find solace in not having to drive through LA traffic.. I think although as bad as the transcontinental flights are, it still beats driving in rush hour day in and day out.
Travelling like that is much easier when you have a wife or girlfriend (or boyfriend / SO, whatevs) that:
1) You hate, or
2) Hates you, or
3) Lives in the state you're travelling to, unbeknownst to your main-piece at home.
there may be some truth there... a majority of my team is divorced... one as recently as a few weeks ago
i don't think it's a long term thing for me. I'm just trying to collect airline status, hotel points for vacation the gf has been EXTREMELY patient with me. I owe her a big ring or wedding or something soon...

Sorry bruh, but I think you should know, she's got a Sancho.
I'm revising a technical document that was written by another engineer, but the wording on the tech stuff is awful. *le sigh*
In other news, I just learned that a friend of mine who "rescued a dog" (read: free dog) from a shelter had to put him down because he became aggressive even when unprovoked. I know some of y'alls are dog folks (y'all a buncha bitches) so I was wodnering what you though of this. I got fucking pissed at her because I'm pretty sure she didn't even try training him properly. He bit a kid and she freaked out and kept saying he's a liability. I told her to train the fucking pup and she never brought it up after that. Today I learned from a mutual friend that she tried giving it back to the shelter and they wouldn't take it because it tried attacking them too. So she put him down.
Nah man treat your opinion the same way you treat your dick. Swing it everywhere and make sure it's noticed.
For real though, I don't know if my anger with her is incorrect. My gut tells me that she neglected her responsibilities as a dog owner by not training him correctly and now that cute little fucker is gone because a grown ass woman acted like a child. But I doubt myself because I've never had a dog, I just love them. So maybe this can't be fixed. (Relevant: she previously put a cat down for the exact same reason - it attacked a kid that was fucking with the cat. Kid was fine though (relevant: I banged this kid's mom).) And she just got another cat last week.
I swear to God she better not kill it too.
