I was in a rap group once.
That's right. I said it. Started off in grade 11 physics class. Write 8 lines, pass it to a buddy and he'd write 8 lines. We would just battle back and forth. Did I mention I'm white and he's Chinese?
We then downloaded fruityloops and started making beats for fun. And then Acid Pro to sample existing music. I actually started making a lot of beats. I bought a sound card so that I could hook up my electric guitar or keyboard to it and record further samples.
We then recorded a couple songs at home. Nothing great, but just to learn. Sound quality was pretty decent, seeing as we were using a $10 mic
And then about 2 years later we decided to make a full album. I think it had 17 or 18 songs on it. I produced it, while him and about 5 other buddies rapped. I didn't want to rap because I was working on my "solo" album, lol. We recorded over xmas break one year. Oh, I should add, the other guys rapping consisted of one black guy, one white guy and 3 other Asians
Never ended up doing much more with it after that though. I kept making beats but never recorded anything else. It took a lot of effort to do so. CSB.

I was in a rap group once.
