Senseless acts of violence and crime are everywhere...but, if we're talking North America, it just seems to be a bit more prevalent down in the US...
Speaking as an ex-pat, you know I snark often about Canada -- it's awful winters, the taxes, and even the healthcare system...but, one thing I think I can generally feel better about is that the violent crime rate is wayyyy down...better place to raise a family.
Still, I'm going home and hugging Little Cha until he complains.
