J, yes, I still have the TL. I just haven't had time to fix the blown brake line yet, due to a number of renovation projects coming to a close. I finally will have time this weekend. I think the TL has been sitting for like 5 weeks now
I'll be sad when snow hits the ground. No Miata for 6 months.
TB, maybe I am not recalling. Did you not keep your TL too? I have moments like that, but then I'll just drive the other car the next day...and then I miss the convertible...so I'm never really bored.
I like my balls busted with a side of butter.
Betty about slit my throat this morning...saw an ad for a 4G, 2010 (I like that big beak!) 6MT, Mayan Bronze, Tech with Umber interior...108K miles (TB done?...no se) asking $17K. Not local...
meh...just caught my eye because it's the exact set up I would have picked...the only one, actually.
No more casual car talk!
Dude.. she's going to strangle the fuck out of you one of these days (probably pretty soon, bedside) if you get my drift.
Btw J.. have you seen recent pricing on modestly used Vs lately?

J.. brah.. The other week I was like.. just because I got the V, did you think I would stop talking about cars and lose interest in expanding the garage?!
Yeah.. apparently the consensus was yes.. my bad.

Dang, you homies lose your vacation by the end of the year? Is that legal? Does it get paid out?
There's a lot of flux from private companies on how they do it.. in da gubmint.. they've tightened up ship a little, but generally most carries over. Some companies don't allow carryover, or only some like 40-80 hr carryover. Some companies don't even have sick leave (need to use PTO if sick, fuck these companies).
I have been! butt, what if I'm actually cutting into next years stock?
i mean as long as it balances out, idc....but what if I think I have 3 weeks, but I had already cut into it the year before... ?
Every company I've worked for would allow you to save up vacation for a minimum, I believe, up to three years. If you didn't take it by then, they would start paying out for the days that got up to the three year mark. I've worked for one company that would let you bank unlimited time.
My pops had to use all his vacation prior to retiring. His company didn't want to pay it out. He was literally on vacation for 6 months, HAD to come back for one day and THEN officially retired

something I have to talk to HR about
I've heard of borrowing from the year, butt not next.
Worst case.. you don't get paid.. win win for everyone
In my company, it's a "if you don't use it, you lose it" type deal. However, we can buy and sell vacation and depending on where you work within the firm, you can roll over a few days without much hassle.
Justn do you accrue vaca at your work or do you just start off with x days?

That's often how it is here too. Depends a lot on the company though.
If you don't use it, well sucks to be you, but you get the extra moolah from working your vacay time instead.

I accrued my 3 weeks, however, the new secretary lady took her vacay right as she started.....
so, we're just all sorts of fucked up
i think as long as it all balances out in the end, its okay.
I've always had to "earn" my vacation. Start with 0 days off. It'd be cool if I could find a place that just gave me the lumpsum of days for the year.
What do you guys get for vacation time? Here, engineering related companies generally start at 3 weeks (15 days). Every 8-10 years of service, you get an additional week, I believe.
For the employee, isn't the PTO better than separated vacation, sick, personal, etc? It rewards those with healthy lifestyles, deters those who suck up all their sick time, and provides the employee the freedom to do as he/she pleases. No questions asked.
The downside is PTO is usually accrued in time, not all at once.
I get 15 days vacation and 10 days sick time. Wife gets 25 days PTO. I'd quickly take the PTO.
