Adam, I don't think Maj is going to answer. I asked him the same question a couple of days ago. Judging from everything he's said about the AT being faster than the MT leads me to believe he got an AT.

Auto.. you know dis. Everyone says I need a manual trans.. I stay in sport mode 99% of the time. No man pedal necessary in traffic.

That inertia.. yep. Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't really worried but just the whole feel is different.

shit 4250 lbs.

She's got a big butt.. I can definitely feel the weight. Had her on an incline and the brakes were making all types of noise as I eased her back.

I may not entirely agree with you, Maj, but you definitely didn't make a bad decision sticking to the AT on that car. To be honest, I'd likely even consider the AT for such a car- if you ever go to sell it, there will be a larger pool of buyers interested, over a MT. I also find it difficult picturing a Caddy with a manual. Dats not luxury! Thing must be a rocket.

So much nice. So much awesome.

Isn't the CTS-V a 50/50 weight distribution? By all means it's a Vette with a suit and tie.

Edit: I wouldn't mind AT either. MT is overrated when it comes to newer transmissions, and it's definitely hard to sell a luxury MT car over here in the big white north.

If the MT was a better deal, I would have gotten it. It's all about $ to me.

I'm never selling her.

When I pay her off.. she might be getting some nice mods.

Hate to ask.. but do any of you guys have weathertech mats?

I'm looking for decent mats to keep her clean. She has mats (freaking memory foam). Not so good in the muck.

Majofo get a go-pro or similar and get us some footage. No, you don't need to make an appearance or even say anything. But there must be butter or waffles or pink poodle fur in view of the camera so we know it's you.

All seriousness, in for more driving impressions.

In other news, it's been 40 degrees and up in my area the past few days. No clutch slipping whatsoever. For those more mechanically inclined than I, is it possible that the slippage I noticed before was due to the extreme cold? I just think it's weird that it's not slipping now - and I tried lol

no.. 56/44.. the engine is hefty. Probably closer to 50/50 with my ass in it.

Maj, I have weathertech mats in all three of my cars. Simply the best fitment and I love the deep dish to them, keeping water and dirt in them and not on the carpets.

Only downside is that on the TL, the back lip just ever so slightly interferes with the front seats when sliding back and forth, but it's minimal. I hate the sound, but no scuff marks on either the mats or lower seat plastic.

It's fine on the Mazda, which I technically don't have yet for another week and the Sonata.

Price I should be paying for all 4/5? Or should I only get from the front?

Doubtful. I've driven in some seriously cold temps and I never had an issue with slipping. Plus, once everything is warmed up it should technically go away, by your theory, no?

Will an action cam work?

Good idea.. but I'm lazy to post.

I doubt it.. although the cold might be emphasizing an issue. How many miles on the fluid?

Lucky for me, I only had to pay for them for the Sonata. Both other cars come with them already

They weren't cheap. I think I paid $280 for three mats (the back seat mat stretches across the entire floor). I'm sure they're cheaper down south. It's been almost 4 years since I bought them and they still look new.

Might cut out the weathertech logo and put in a V logo.

I got weathertech molded mats. I don't recommend anything other than that for people here. Guy at work bought some too for his new Mazda 3 under my recommendation, couldn't be happier. They're not cheap, but they protect and they look hella better than shitty winter mats.

I realize you're not battling the same sort of crap I am, but the only issues I have with the TL ones is the foot rest not being covered so slush falls/slides under the mat there from under my boot (my fault for not having a MT justn will say) and after 10 years the edges of the mat tend to curl up a bit. Second one is easy to fix, just take the mat out a bit and fold the edge backwards so you kink it the right way and it lasts another 3 months without curling up.

Overall, very high quality mats. I would not go for anything that isn't molded anymore for cars that aren't beaters.

I was so sure it was closer than this. Oh well, still not that bad all things considered, better 56/44 RWD than 60/40 FWD TL...

^ I misquoted.. it is closer 54/46. 60/40 is pretty good on a FWD.

speedinc has the fronts for $120 and the rear $60 (one-piece as well). Not bad.

I get you, 60/40 on a V6 FWD car isn't bad, but it definitely shows in curves. Understeer is hard/annoying to manage in my opinion. The only worry with oversteer is if you suddenly get traction you get launched somewhere you don't expect if you're a shitty driver.

Not bad for the mats. I suggest getting both. I hate front & back disparity for anything, may it be tint or mats.

That's a hunch but when it was super cold and slipping, I was only out and about for 20ish mins tops. At the first sign of slippage, I figured I'd just take my ass home. Plus Boston is the size of an average Wal-Mart so it takes no time to get to and from anyhow

MT fluid is probably coming up on the end of it's useful life. I'll give it a few more days and see how it acts. Parts are already on the way anyhow so I guess best case scenario, I'll make a little room in a closet and stick the clutch/FW in there til I need it.

Or sell the new parts with the car then go buy my own V.

He's a giant. But no, they're really small, which is why they seem like so much fun. 5 minutes of flight, 20 minutes to charge, you can buy replacement battery packs, blades, blade protector. Pimp that shit.

Saw some video of some guys doing quads dog fights using nerf discs as projectile. Cams on the quads and VR headsets, pretty cool. Lacking a bit of finesse for now but I can see this being a cool activity.

It's running...it's my cardio day today at the gym. Last workout for the week to since I'm off tomorrow. Going to take Little Cha to the amusement park and go on the Merry-Go-Round and other rides that toddlers/babies are allowed to go on.

Looking very much to that. Best b-day gift.

Afternoon fellas...

Maj, I have Weathertech mats in my Durango, personally I think they're over priced. I've got OEM all season mats in my wife's CR-V and I like them equally or better and they were way cheaper. The hole for the clip in my Durango doesn't line up on the Weathertech mat.
