What's the amount of labor hours that typically would be required to replace the rear valve cover gasket?

I'd say two...
but if you're in there anyway, might as well do a valve adjustment which could add another couple.

Also, pay attention to how the seals are set on the spark plug tubes...seems simple but I managed to fk up 2 sets because I was putting them in upside down.

Not sure if it's worth it to me to do it myself or have the dealer do it. If it's two hours worth of labor, I'm looking at $10 for a new spark plug, plus another $30 for the valve cover gasket, plus two hours of labor = $10+$30+$120 = $150.

I would just need the valve cover gasket, correct, or would I also need the spark plug tube seals?

its one of those cases where you'd have to inspect.
my spark plug seals were fine, but i changed them out anyway.

but if the valve cover is off, the spark plug seals will be accessible and in theory; 2 birds with one stone

Plus, normally the felpro set they sell locally will include it all. My spark seals were "fine"...but very hard and brittle in comparison to the new ones.

Was it a pain in the ass to remove the intake manifold and associated wiring/hoses? The rear valve cover looks, well, like a pain in the ass.

I had done it before, once...so it wasn't very challenging...label all your hoses...once you remove them though, it's not that bad, a handful of bolts holding it down, some hose clamps, some wiring harnesses and some brackets held on with a 10MM bolt.

Be methodical about removal...although something tells me I don't have to tell an engineer that.

Yeah, I could probably do it, just want to know what I'm getting into BEFORE I do it.

Any coolant hoses that I have to clamp off and remove?

From my super gmaps skills it seems it's called both I-59 and US-69 while in Houston then it becomes I-59 only at Rosenberg and North Cleveland.

You guys are messed up.

I know I know. To both points.

Gotta help the brother buy & install brake pads on his Volvo. Not sure if the rotors need replacing. One day he'll fly on his own. Or not.

Pasta, egg and tuna salad.
Macaroni, hard boiled eggs, tuna, green onions, diced peppers, mayo, sour cream, salt and pepper, paprika, a bit of hot sauce.

It's good!
