To buy a Macbook for photography or to just buy a desktop is the question.
I've been tossing around buying a new pron machine..... Thinking MacBook even though I said I hate Apple but I think I'm coming back around.
Also, thinking about a desktop so I can edit pictures more efficiently.

I don't take sides regarding the Apple v Android debate or Apple v PC. They're both great tools for their respective purposes.
It depends on your budget and your scope of work. What all exactly do you need/want to do with your computer? Do you need portability, battery life, retina displays, fast processor, integrated everything? By evaluating exactly what you need and the budget for said needs, you can decide which platform works best for you. (I.e. A top end MacBook Pro might not fit everyone's budget/scope but if you need a fast, thin and light laptop with core i7 and 16 gigs of ram with a retina display, it's hard to find alternatives at a better price)
I still don't get why people feel the need to stand firmly on either extreme, why can't we all just get along?

and if you're just a hobby photographer, like me....YOU DONT EVEN NEED A HIGH END COMPUTER.
just one that can use Light room efficiently.
a mediocre i5 or i7 does the job with like 4 gigs of ram.

I don't stand firmly on either side of the fence too.
I actually don't hate apple. I hate apple people that act like it's the end all be all.
But that's more about the person than a product.
Technology must not win!

Problem is, there are people on the other side (Android) who are the same!
Then there are the Blackberry peeps that are definitely out of touch with reality

I love apple. I'd never buy an apple product, but I did buy stock because of how rabid the apple fans are. Made a couple dollars that way so far.
So Flippy, you should get that macbook. And an iPad to go with it. Maybe a new iPhone and iwatch too. Go for it!

One of my D90's took a shit on my trip. The flash pin fell out and it randomly overexposes shots. It's fucking weird as fuck, not sure if it has anything to do with the flash pin. Fffffuuuu!!
I'm actually going to invest in a mirrorless.. probably APS-C. I'd go full-frame if the speed is right. I need fast autofocus on this bitch. Probably buy one in the next month or so before my India trip. Maybe $1500 to spend.

Right now leaning towards Sony a6k or Olympus OMD. Benefit of OMD is the lens interchangeability, although Sony has some nice glass too. Probably pancake f1.6 lens and a telephoto zoom or 85mm prime equivalent with low f stop.

That's what I'm thinking.. spend the extra coin on glass. I'm not sure how reliable Sonys are. I have tons of Sony shit that has taken a shit on me. I'm hoping with them upping their game in the mirrorless and actioncam market that the lenses will at least hold their value.
I'll try one out this weekend.

Depending on the shutter count, that could definitely be a steal.
