Our family's first computer was Iirc an IBM XT(?) it was one of those two tone monitors that uses those HUGE 5.25" floppy disks.
After that we got a Intel i486 PC.
Then a 200mhz pentium PC.
Then a Dell iirc 2.0ghz Pentium 4.
And currently a 2011 dual core i5 Mac mini
For myself my first PC was a 233mhz Pentium
Then a AMD Athlon XP 1600+(?)
Intel core 2 duo E6600
And currently on a 2012 quad core 2.3ghz i7 Mac mini.

Used to pull up those shitty porn pics on dialup. Downloaded them at school because they had 100kbps.

BBS sucked dick..
Half the time a whole list was offline. Most comms lists died after 92, which would have made you 4? 56K.. mang you had it good. I looked after my neighbors house for a few weeks while he was on vacation. He had a 56k connection.. forearm strength got real strong then.
Any of you guys need a house sitter?

BBS was still strong here in mid 90ies prior to Internet. Hundreds of boards, and there was a popular one, Juxtaposition, where the sysop had a list of active ones updated. That's even where I started "English" per se.

Used to get so stressed out..
We upgraded the compaq.. I think it was a 433.. can't remember. Anyways.. installed a soundblaster card for DOOM and joystick card as well.
I eventually fried that computer because I didn't screw in the card slot when I replaced the game card. It fell off onto the board ($2k to replace, back then). Toast.
That was my last computer until the POS VAIO. Yay typewriter.

Haha some of that shit too old. The first brand new computer my dad bought was a Pentium 3 500Mhz. It came with Windows ME. Holy fuck that was lame, moving from 98 SE to ME. Dad ended up going back to the store so often over the course of like a year they gave him a Pentium 4 1.5Ghz with XP on it.
Prior to that we had a used HP Pentium 2 400Mhz and damn it was better than the P3. That was pretty much one of my fav computers as a kid.

I considered myself very good at Starcraft...until I got cocky enough to go against someone in Korea.
Boy, did I get a taste of humble kimchi.
But, generally, if I was playing against local people and etc. and I wanted to give them a sound beating, I'd use the Zerg. Even after they were "nerfed" (sorta) for Brood Wars, I still thought they were arguably the best species to use.

When the Zerg got nerfed for Brood Wars half my friends didn't know how to play anymore... Fuck that zergling rush anyway.
