It's a 2/11 set up.. Not sure of the exact gearing. It's a '14 Trek Domane 2.0

Hmm. I swore there was some additional discount around Christmas or something.

Oh well... I must be making up stories again.

Well according to Trek website for 2016 domane 2.0 they use a compact Tiagra (50/34 crank( with a 11/32 cassette in the rear.

Upgrade to a regular 52/53 / 36/34 crank to get more power!

The 32 in the rear is probably a decent granny gear if you have a lot of hills but honestly I run with a 28 and am okay.

I want to mess around with the gearing and the brakes as well. I feel like my brakes could have more bite. My MTB stops better than my road bike. A new saddle is next on my list too.

They probably threw cheap brake and brake pads on there. Before buying new calipers altogether. Try buying a set of shimano 105 or Ultegra pads/cartridge and install them on those no name calipers and see if it helps.

They're honestly a pretty great bang for your buck.

Saddles: it's more a personal and physiological preference. I was recommended Fizik a while ago and swear by them ever since.. They're comfy for me so i have stuck with them. People also really like some of the higher end Specialized and Selle Italias. Most shops let you test ride saddles for a few days so go find a shop that will and try some out for yourself

I have a Fizik on my MTB and although it won't prevent sore taint...it lessens it.
Specialized body geometry is great too, obviously...you need to know your riding style to know how much you're relying on it holding up your weight.

About your MTB braking much better, there's a reason for that...can you imagine being able to stop on a dime on some 23CM tires? You'd burn a hole in the tire within 2 miles. Gradual stops vs OH FUCK TREEEEEEE!!

and to explain my previous comment...
I didn't mean to sound like a pompous elitist prick. I'm sorry.

You asked my opinion and my kneejerkoff reaction was that I don't like the BLATANT brand name copy. If they were AVID in a different font...I just don't like that you KNOW they're trying to fool people...like US Polo Assoc at Ross (I fell for it folks...not a real Lo Head )

That turns me off, that said, I don't like black wheels...I don't like super heavy wheels (heavier than oem).

About Enkei, I take it back...I just don't like the STYLE of those. I authentically love a lot of their wheels, actually. Although I was disappointed Chip put them on my old S2000 because they were tried and true, I can't lie and say they don't look fucking awesome. RPF, that is...

Love the Forgestars...CF10's or whatever...

then again, I'm partial to a 10 spoke or 7 spoke.

whoa. I didn't realize they had 2-hour prime. I suppose it's only if you're near a distro center right?

That would make me soooo lazy.

It's all good I know what you meant. I just don't know (or care) enough about wheels to know the difference. As long as they don't crack and hold up to spirited driving they could be no names. I'm not a brand whore I'm after a certain look not a name necesarily

It's hard to convey tone over the internet so just to be clear, there is no sarcasm or bitchiness intended in that paragraph..

As for Ross, go to Marshalls, I've gotten three pairs of decent Nikes from there. Not the old grandpa trainers..like legit SB's and they carry Polo Ralph Laruren

I think there trying it out in different areas. I'm about an hour away from a distro center but it doesn't come from there. I want to say they partnered with Target and that's how their getting stuff.

I know a lot of the big cities are taking part in it but you have to download Amazon now on your phone and use the app to order.

I'm going to eat a small breakfast, then go out for a walk/jog.

Weather is supposed to be nice all weekend, so I'd like to take advantage of it.

I just like a lightweight wheel that looks good.

Thanks, homies...
was brutal watching my buddy too. He's the big bro to 5 bros and sisters...I remember them all in tighty whities running around when we were in high school. We have been best buds since 1994...was my roommate for 5 years after my ex moved out before b moved in.

Anyway, shorty wanna be a thug and brought the unsavory to his mother's home...sucks regardless because although he was on the wrong side of the tracks in some regards, he was funny and a cool kid too.

You know what J, you're just an elitist prick. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on!!!!!!

Naw, I totally kid, brother. I think everyone around AZ knows you're anything but. I agree with you in the brands though. I don't think everyone needs volks and SSRs and Weds. There are plenty of good brands out there. I definitely do not like the straight-outta-china (no waicist) no name wheels like Avid.

Konig and enkei get hate, amongst others, but they do have some good wheels in my opinion.
