Question:
so my sister is complaining that the old Accord is giving her issues so she's going to give up on it and buy another car. She's claiming transmission issues and at ~260K , i'm pretty happy it's had a long run. I'm considering a manual swap into it just to keep the car around and running but am wondering is it worth putting any extra money into it or if I should just set it off to pasture.. It had a good run .. already has a rebuilt title so selling might not be worth much.. Maybe parting out would be more ideal.. An old jalopnik article sets the 6 Speed swap parts list to about 1500-2500$.. Might be better off just junking/parting/selling it and call it a day.
Thoughts?

Ehhh.. in hindsight, I don't think it's going to be worth it to do the swap, she already overheated the engine once, the cat is gone and replaced with a welded in straight pipe..
I think it's time to just see if i can fix it (drain and flush ) myself or part it out.
just thinking aloud.

i think you should do the swap only if you have plans to keep using the car.
if no intentions of using it and will be sitting, then obviously dont do the swap..

28 hour drive. If I had a V1 I could probably cut that down to 26ish 27ish.....
1900 Miles.....
Probably have to fill up 4 times. 500 miles on one tank.
Shiit though. Just to see Cul0....
Isn't there some big Acura meet in June usually?

Wasn't there a member here who was good at doing AT to MT swaps?

On the Costco website, they offer 4. Probably more in the store.
PowerStroke 3100 PSI Pressure Washer w/ Subaru Electric Start Engine
It's electric, but 3100 PSI seems to be enough for what I want to do.

I can't believe this thing is only 299. It's 450 here
But yeah, that's the one I was looking at. Thought it'd be cool to have a Subie engine in the household

I've been mentioning to my wife that I want a V1, but my ass is cheap. (When you read that out loud, it just doesn't sound right) I think they sell for around three hunnid- four hunnid.

Thoi, just dump your sister and adopt one that's mechanically inclined.
Don't throw the Accord away. It's from an era when Hondas where good

Put some ugly ass wing or tail lights on it, and I'm sure a Drive Accord member will buy it.

seemingly so after this weekend it'll be two years running! traditions!
i wish i could mang... i wish i could.. i loved that thing.. i may just keep it around a little longer and wrench on it without doing a swap to see if i can maybe clean up some filters or something.. i'd hate to junk it.
GREAT idea!

Think I will take a trip to Costco today.... After work, for dinner.... You know, free samples and shit.......
Costco needs to sample some wine or beer or something. Like fuck.

I slowed down, but having 2 kids and a wife make you pick it right back up... I went through a 6 pack of Corona over the weekend. Yes, I know that's not shit, but still.
Edit: Forgot we went to a little gathering Sunday night so I had a total of 9 beers over the weekend.

Executive for the win.. it's really a no brainer.. it's $55 extra on top of the regular membership but iwht the 2% dividends on all purchases, you should be able to make that up in no time. Also even if you don't spend enough to get the $55 bucks back, they'll give you $55 anyway.. I'm not sure why more people don't do it...
actually i know why, it's because Maff is hard.. All you need to do is spend $2750 in a year at Costco to make up that $55.. hell i almost spent that much on the garage door alone...

To be honest, I'm not one to binge drink anymore... I do enjoy drinking beers... a little too often (lol), but it's casual drinking, like on King of The Hill.
It's considered a hard night if I finish off a 6 pack in an evening. And that's over a 3-4 hour span. I wouldn't even be close to blowing over the legal limit.

Flippy it's okay... we know you have a big dick, you don't need to overcompensate by telling us how many beers you can drink..

we were BJ's members for years at the townhouse, it was across the street.
We did Costco executive one year too, but it was to inconvenient to go 5 miles out of our way for it for gas and to buy stuff.
We do Sam's now cause it's on my way home from work and it's good enough.
