Well, I mentioned it before and you didn't respond so I'm not going to trouble him for what the product is if you're not interested in it. I do the chemical guys stuff but nothing keeps it looking new once it's fkd. So you can buy another but IIRC that part is $200 or more...i looked into it for le bleu T el.

I don't remember before.

$200? Are you talking the windshield cowl?

I hadn't thought aboot that (before ladiboi mentioned it) but I could see that taking a beating too.

I was mainly asking about the wiper blades.

So far I've heard A303, Meguiars Black-to-Black, Chemical Guys Somethingorother, and J's Friends Stuff.

I might pick up a few things and start doing a lefty/righty experiment to see which seems to last longer.

I luv you RS.

Oh, you meant the actual metal arm holding the wipers? Shoot...on ALL my old hondas, after a few years I would remove them and sand them down and do some black paint on them to keep them looking new and fresh.

Love you back.

i thought he was talking about the wiper blade holders.

Context would have been nice. Our 3G's don't have those blade holders so we just replace them. Paperboy (G) have been putting in the blade holder from a newer gen Accord and it's supposedly pretty good:

Yeah, I'm talking about what they call the "blades" #17 and #19 in the picture:

#18 & 20 are the "blade cartridges" or "blade inserts" and the two metal springs are un-numbered inside the 17/19 assembly box lines.

That's like $50 a set every xx years. I suppose I'd just like them to last.

Plus there are a few other pieces that seem to be made of the same material that will do the same thing.

Eh. Whatever.

Thanks for some stimulating conversation gents!

I got that, it looks alright. They barely touch when at the bottom but they're more hidden so that's nice.

Called the garage to see what was up with my car, they told me the insurance estimator came by. I told them maybe I'd be looking forward totaling the car, they told me to call my insurance. So I left a voicemail at my insurance company lady and hopefully she calls me before the garage orders the parts.

If they offer me an ok amount of cash I might just take it rather than get the car repaired... Damn I knew I should have hit the walls instead of just jumping à la Duke of Hazards.

Car isn't going to be totaled. My insurer says for the car to be totaled on cars like these damage has to be way higher, like nearly 100% of the value of the car.

So I still own a UA6. Oh well, bye guys. Cya next crash.

Buddy of mine wrecked a car once. Did some significant to the front suspension (i.e. tore it off along with the wheel) and insurance didn't total it. It got rebuilt.

Job was like 98% done and he went to go look at it... very... closely...

He saw some things that looked okay but not perfect so he brought it up to the insurance company and they came and re-looked at it. And since the car needed to be re-repaired, they then totaled it.

So maybe you can do the same? Keep pestering the shop while they're doing the work so the cost of the job goes way up.

Maybe hire a craque-head off of Le List du Craig to go torch the car in the shop?

Yeah that's all good, except I'm at like 50% of the value. No way in hell I can get them even close to twice the amount. I don't know the shop, it's one that's select by the insurance company, plus I usually do my own work on the car so I don't really know any garages to start with.
