sorry you still have a car

I could have chose my own shop, but there's the shop estimator + insurance estimator and they have to agree about to repairs, so def hard to make them boost the price.
I'll get to use the N7 after all.

There's also a small ding on the resonator and since the exhaust part comes all in 1 piece from Acura brand new only and is worth 900$, if they changed it because it's a small cosmetic issue that does not affect function it would give more value to my car, so they would need me to spend for a "revaluation" fee of around $257+tx. If I keep the ding they send me a $150 cheque which pays for half of my $250 deductible anyway.

The hell they charge you a reevaluation fee. Shit when the 13 accord was hit I guess I probably would have had to pay a reevaluation fee of 600+

It means because they can only buy the part new from dealership and there's no other approved part vendor and they need to change the whole assembly instead of just the resonator, it would boost my car value higher than what it was worth prior to accident.

Just some insurance scam bullshit paper fucker. >:|

lol I know right, as I saw the pic I knew it was the next step. They can't do that under the insurance work but I'll get it done, cause hey it's not modding it's fixing right?

Had a longer talk with the insurance lady, not the insurance estimator and she says the damage would need to be 80% of the value for the car to be totaled, not nearly 100% like the estimator said. Nevertheless, not even close.

At that point I'm just alright with the car not being totaled. I don't think it's realistically feasible that it would be totaled, other than if an Armageddon sized asteroid fell directly on it in the repair place secured parking lot.

Plus I like the car, it's enjoyable. Let's just hope I don't get dicked too hard down the line when it's time to sell the car to some kid who wants to kill himself cause vtec yo

I think it's more Quebecuh. Around here, once the damages reach 70% of the vehicle total, they write it off. At least for older cars. So if PBs car is hypothetically worth 7k, if damage was 4900, they'd write it off.

It's hard for me to judge without seeing accident pics, but if damage is pegged at $3500, that's not all that bad of a crash. I mean, a used OEM bumper and plastic welding my front lip, along with paint and whatever else, came to about $1800 when my TL got hit and run last year.

Personally, I'd just likely keep the car and drive it until it actually dies. It's already paid for. What do you have to lose?

and i don't mean to undervalue PBs car... I really don't remember what condition it was in, or the mileage, or anything else for that matter. What I have noticed as of late though, is the price of 3G TLs seems to be dropping around here. Mine's in pretty nice shape through and through and I don't think I could get more than 10.5k for it.

I'm also confused about that OEM resonator that got dented... why wouldn't they get another one from an auto wrecker? Cut old one out, weld new one in. Done.

I don't really hold KBB with much regard. I mean, it's nice and all, but it's not very indicative of "desirability". I highly doubt KBB would show a 2005 NSX being worth 75-100k these days.

The TL-S is the same. Granted, not as rare or desirable, but still desirable nonetheless. You know damn well you could likely get another 5k on top of that.

You should sell the TL and get an RDX elite. In known recorded history, none have ever been totaled because even if they charged double the price of MSRP new to repair, it would still not be close to 80% of priceless.

RDX Elite (Canadian model) is probably a no-go. Didn't bunneh say he was moving in with his lady?

He'd be pulling too much 9+/10 trim if he got a RDX Elite (Canadian model) and even with a dime in the sack, there would inevitability be some jealousy.

Don't do it bunneh, just don't do it.

So did you just stuff all the shit for the one neighborhood into a single slot on the other box?

Because that's what my postal critter seems to do.

I get (most of) my shit, all three neighbors shit, shit for the gal on another street with the same house number, and from time to time, random ass mail for houses up to 10 miles away. And I live in suburbia, not on a farm where that's the nearest bumpkin to me.

Rear Amp’d Emblem in White (comes on with Parking lights)

A while back on here a 'member/vendor' was selling emblems that had LED backlighting. So the Acura logo would light up.

Hmm. Interesting.

I had something similar for my old Tacoma with an EL lamp for the front emblem. Never hooked it up though.

I also have a large Suzuki "S" for my bike. Also never hooked it up.

I guess I'm closet .
